Abstract To achieve fast and accurate identification of drill pipes, we propose FSS-YOLO, which is a lightweight pipe detection method based on YOLOv8n-obb. This first introduces the FasterBlock module into C2f YOLOv8n-obb to reduce number model parameters decrease computational cost redundant feature maps. Next, SimAM attention mechanism added backbone network enhance weight important features in map improves model's extraction capability. In addition, using shared convolution optimize head, not only lightens head but also enhances its ability learn different scales, improving generalization ability. Finally, FSS-YOLO algorithm validated self-built dataset. The results show that compared with original algorithm, achieves improvements 5.1% mAP50 11.5% Recall, reduces by 45.8%, an inference speed 27.8ms/frame Jetson Orin NX. Additionally, visual for scenarios demonstrate improved has promising application prospects

Uniaxial compression tests were conducted on coal samples subjected to different dry–wet cycling treatments investigate the damage and degradation mechanisms of under cyclic action acidic, high-salinity solutions.
