In this work, the application of Zeolitic Imidazolate Framework (ZIF-8) as a CO2 sensing material is investigated. The ball milling technique, green and solvent-free alternative, was applied for synthesis deposition on substrate, made carbon cloth. synthesized ZIF-8 via exhibits excellent adsorption detection characteristics, demonstrated through fluorescence measurements with 82% reduction in intensity upon exposure. To inspect structural morphology, crystallinity, pore size sample, characterization tests including XRD, FTIR, BET, FE-SEM were conducted. revealed formation new phase (ZIF-L) using procedure. Additionally, MOF coated cloth substrate at different speeds: 100 rpm, 300 rpm 500 rpm. MOF-coated substrates characterized SEM EDS analysis to confirm attachment substrates. Gas chromatography conducted assess capability absorb CO2. produced speed exhibited favorable coating concentration 53.46%, thus, making it suitable deployment layer miniature gas sensor.

With the increasing use of metal–organic frameworks (MOFs), they will inevitably enter environment intentionally or unintentionally. However, effects MOFs on plant growth are poorly understood. Here, we investigated exposure rhizosphere to growth. MIL-101(Cr) was selected as a research model due its commercial availability and wide use. Soybean plants at two-leaf stage were subjected various durations (1–7 days) concentrations (0–1000 mg/L) in hydroculture with control group treated ultrapure water. We found that had positive effect soybean lower dose (i.e., 200 mg/L); however, higher doses 500 1000 mg/L), it exhibited significant toxicity growth, which is evidenced by leaf damage. To investigate mechanism this effect, used Cr an indicator quantify, track, image laser ablation inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (LA-ICP-MS). Results indicated primarily accumulated cortex roots (up 40 times than stems), limited translocation stems negligible presence leaves cotyledons. In addition, metabolomic analysis soybeans low-dose could increase sucrose content promote while high induce lipid oxidation roots. This study provides valuable insights into ecological toxicology underscores importance assessing their environmental impact for sustainable agricultural practices.

Metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) combined with polymers as hybrid materials offer numerous advantages such enhanced performances through synergistic effects at their interface. The primary challenge in developing polymer/MOF matrix films is ensuring optimal dispersion and strong adhesion of crystalline MOFs to the polymer without aggregation, weak interaction, or phase separation. In this study, hierarchically porous UiO-66_NH2/chitosan (ZrCSx-f) were designed by crystallizing UiO-66_NH2 within a chitosan (CS) skeleton. resulting ZrCSx-f displayed remarkable homogeneity high loadings crystals, up 45 wt %, coupled adsorption capacity iodine gas phase, 317 mg.g–1.

Currently, designing highly efficient catalysts for biomass hydrogenation at low temperatures remains a significant challenge. This paper proposes straightforward solvent-treatment strategy to create rich oxygen vacancies (OV), facilitating the loading of ultra-small (1.6 nm) Pt nanoparticles (NPs) onto metal-organic framework (MOF) (LaQS) with OV (LaOV-r). Consequently, bifunctional Pt2/LaOV-r catalyst, featuring Lewis acid and metal sites, was synthesized. Under mild conditions (80 °C), catalyst exhibited catalytic yield >99% in converting biobased ethyl acetylpropionate [ethyl levulinate (EL)] valerolactone [γ-valerolactone (GVL)]. 3.2 13.3 times higher than those measured by Pt2/LaQS commercial Pt/C catalysts, respectively. Specifically, catalyzed full conversion EL GVL even room temperature. The results revealed that synergistic effect between NPs MOF is important into GVL. Especially, abundant defects LaOV-r not only enhanced electron cloud density active sites hydrogenation, but also elevated content moderately-strong acidic sites. enhances ability activate H2 EL, promotes intra-molecular dehydration intermediates mechanism MOFs proposed. study presents an effective defect engineering aimed enhancing using MOFs-loaded NPs.
