Abstract Background Gender-based violence (GBV) is associated with high rates of psychopathology (i.e., depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder) in victim-survivors. Existing research has demonstrated that physical activity beneficial for mental health and wellbeing across various populations. However, it currently unclear whether moderate-vigorous (MVPA) efficacious victim-survivors GBV. Therefore, this systematic review aims to understand 1) the acceptability feasibility leisure-time MVPA interventions GBV, 2) efficacy cohort, 3) implementation strategies used development such interventions. Methods Four databases were searched from inception January 2024. Leisure-time intervention studies reported on at least one measure or self-identified/biological women who had lived experience GBV eligible. Results Eleven met inclusion criteria, analysis revealed a range different types ( n = 5) health/wellbeing outcomes measured 9). The main findings include: was enhanced where trauma violence-informed (TVI) practices delivery There lack clarity consistency around TVI practice research. may be positively wellbeing. Conclusions Limited evidence exists regarding impact important population group. Future should embed strategy within design, delivery,

Experiencing gender-based violence (GBV) is a risk factor for numerous noncommunicable diseases, many of which are associated with physical inactivity. This systematic review aims to determine if activity levels and sedentary behavior differ between people who have experienced GBV not been exposed GBV. Five databases were searched from inception May 2023. Eligible studies original research publications that reported quantitative measure and/or comparator group. Synthesis without meta-analysis was performed due inconsistent measures activity. Eleven 38,679 159,103 comparators included. Most conducted in the United States (N=9, 82%) exclusively female participants 82%). All on no study behavior. No used validated tool levels. Nineteen comparisons population group identified 11 studies. Findings mixed, 10 (52.5%) finding significant difference, six (32%) lower engagement GBV-exposed group, three (15.5%) reporting similar values both groups (without test). The overall quality poor-fair. There mixed evidence whether among compared individuals not. High using assessment methods needed.

Abstract Background In trauma-affected refugees with posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), research on physical activity is scarce. Knowing more about the relation between and PTSD symptoms may provide insight into as a possible target in treatment of PTSD. The aim present study was to examine whether baseline change level from end were related to, respectively, symptoms, quality life, sleep quality, efficiency refugees. Methods Longitudinal data randomized controlled trial analysed multiple linear regression. Level measured actigraphy PTSD, life self-report questionnaires. Results A higher significantly associated better borderline but not or efficiency. Furthermore, an increase improvement Change quality. Conclusion novelty current lies finding no results point complex sleep, towards need for studies these relations effective interventions Trial registration ClinicalTrials.gov ID (NCT02761161), April 27, 2016.
