Infectious diseases are largely preventable, yet they continue to pose a significant threat public health, particularly among vulnerable populations in developing countries. Basic hygiene practices, especially hand and skin hygiene, have been shown significantly reduce the risk of cross-transmission infections, including those caused by multi-drug-resistant organisms. In light growing global concern about antimicrobial resistance, there is an urgent need review reinforce these practices. This study provides general overview role that practices play decreasing infectious conducting comprehensive review. Multiple online databases, Google Scholar, Scopus, Web Science, were searched using relevant keywords such as “hygiene practices”, “infectious diseases”, “public health”, “Africa”, “sanitation”. After filtering search results for relevancy, selected studies narratively synthesized present latest data on its impact diseases. Strengthening along with environmental sanitation preventive measures, can help spread nosocomial infections. By emphasizing importance fundamental regions where burden highest, development antibiotic-resistant be prevented, improving patient safety, enhancing health outcomes. Adopting policies, regular handwashing, crucial reducing prevalence outcomes

ABSTRACT While recent studies have demonstrated the involvement of skin and gut microbiome in pathogenesis atopic dermatitis (AD), influence pharyngeal microbiota on AD remains unclear. This study aims to explore disparities composition flora among patients their potential role AD. Between March May 2023, 30 with at outpatient department Jiangsu Provincial Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital were recruited, along 20 healthy subjects, underwent 16S rRNA sequencing swabs. Pharyngeal taxonomic biomarkers identified using linear discriminant analysis effect size (LEfSe), phylogenetic investigation communities by reconstruction unobserved states (PICRUSt2) was employed predict functional metabolic pathways bacteria differential abundance. Significant variations observed between two groups. The Pharynx exhibited a notably higher relative abundance Granulicatella , Pseudomonas Acinetobacter compared volunteers. Conversely, Prevotella Porphyromonas Campylobacter Lactobacillaceae Treponema Megasphaera Selenomonas Oribacterium lower patients. According enrichment annotations predicted PICRUSt2, may be involved through pathways, namely chondroitin sulfate degradation chitin derivatives degradation. displayed distinctive profiles controls. These findings imply pivotal AD, offering novel perspectives for treatment strategies.

Atopic dermatitis (AD) is a chronic, recurrent inflammatory disease. Animal models are important for studying disease mechanisms and identifying new therapeutic agents. However, owing to AD heterogeneity complexity, there currently no mouse model that can fully simulate human AD. We searched experimental articles published between 2017 2021 identify the most suitable model. summarized compared 614 articles, including details on strains, sex, age, irritants, modeling cycles, spontaneous models. BALB/c mice (45.3 %) were commonly used. Generally, 4-8-week-old used, 44 irritants identified. The common irritant was 2,4-dinitrochlorobenzene (DNCB), followed by Dermatophagoides farinae mite antigen extract (DfE). period generally 21-30 days. There perfect animal model, we suggest selecting based previous research or using two more meet requirements. Atopic dermatitis (AD) is a chronic inflammatory skin disease characterized by the appearance of recurrent eczematous lesions and intense itching. The World Allergy Organization (WAO) suggested administration probiotics in pregnant women at high risk allergies their children. Our study aims to evaluate role administering Bifidobacterium bifidum strain PRL2010 during pregnancy breastfeeding preventing and/or reducing severity AD manifestations It monocentric, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial with probiotic/placebo since 36th week gestation mothers atopy or family history atopy; effects were evaluated over first 12 months children's lives. No severe adverse due probiotic intake reported our cohort. Although proportionally fewer children group, statistical analysis showed no significant differences between placebo groups. However, infants who developed most forms group better clinical course follow-up compared those group. In conclusion, safe potentially beneficial; further large-scale studies may confirm its usefulness improving manifestation atopy.

Balanoposthitis is a common heterogeneous skin condition involving the glans penis and prepuce, seen from infancy to old age. Its predisposing factors are intertrigo, lengthy foreskin, localized irritation, mucosal injury. The itching inflammation at seriously affects quality of life patients. As result advances in high-throughput sequencing technology, prepuce microbial colonization patterns now known better. Previous studies have shown that an imbalance flora can cause balanoposthitis. This article summarizes progress research on balanoposthitis microecology, provides direction for subsequent exploration immunological mechanisms

Background The relationship between atopic dermatitis (AD) and lymphoma risk remains debate. This study systematically evaluates in AD patients compared to non-AD individuals. Methods A systematic search of PubMed, Embase, the Cochrane Library (up August 11, 2024) identified observational studies reporting estimates for patients. Pooled odds ratios (OR) or relative risks (RR) with 95% CIs were calculated using a random-effects model (PROSPERO ID: CRD42024577019). Results Of 2,366 articles screened, 13 met inclusion criteria. was significantly associated elevated (OR = 2.56, CI: 1.75–3.74, P < 0.001; RR 1.23, 1.15–1.31, 0.001). increased severity, severe cases showing highest effect size (RR 2.63; 1.94–3.58, OR 2.60; 1.71–3.96, Subgroup analyses revealed high Hodgkin (HL) 1.54, 1.35–1.75, 0.001) non-Hodgkin 1.15, 1.04–1.28, 0.006). Notably, T-cell (TCL) showed 4.25; 1.94–9.33, whereas no significant association observed B-cell 1.07; 0.95–1.20, 0.271). Conclusion is risk, particularly HL, NHL TCL. severity may amplify this risk.
