Advances in plant essential oils and drug delivery systems for skincare

Essential oils, often referred to as "liquid gold," are renowned for their broad biological activity. Ancient Egyptians used essential oils' antibacterial and antiseptic effects preserve mummies, ancient Greeks olive oil sun protection, Chinese oils treat wounds. When applied the facial skin, potent anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, pharmacological characteristics provide various benefits, including sunscreen, skin-whitening, anti-aging effects. This paper aims summarize application of plant in skin whitening, antioxidant recent years, deeply analyzes internal relationship between modern drug delivery system, expounds how overcome limitations through specific enhance its activity stability, realize sustained release reduce potential toxicity, also discusses positive on brain function olfactory pathway, emphasizes possible safety risks use oil, puts forward corresponding suggestions use.
