(hvKp).

described
in
Taiwan
1986,
hvKp
are
highly
pathogenic
characterized
by
unique
phenotypic
genotypic
traits.

hypermucoviscous
(hmv)
phenotype,
generally
marked
overproduction
of
the
capsule,
often
associated
with
hvKp,
although
recent
studies
show
that
some
cKp
strains
may
also
have
this
characteristic.

pneumoniae
