The laser ablation inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (LA-ICP-MS) technique is considered versatile for multi-elemental analysis and imaging because it easy to handle, compatible with different types of solid samples, requires minimal sample preparation, provides high spatial resolution sensitivity. A thorough understanding of absorption, distribution, metabolism, and excretion (ADME) insecticide candidates is essential in development structural optimization. Here, ADME pyraquinil, a novel insecticidal GABA receptor antagonist, Plutella xylostella larvae during the accumulation phase depuration was investigated separately using combination UHPLC-Q-Orbitrap, HPLC-MS/MS, MALDI-MSI. Five new metabolites pyraquinil were identified, metabolic pathway proposed. The oxidative metabolite (pyraquinil-sulfone) identified as main confirmed by its standard. Quantitative results showed that taken up rapidly then undergone cytochrome P450s-mediated transformation into pyraquinil-sulfone. Both fecal metabolism demonstrated to be predominant ways eliminate P. accumulation, while followed probably major depuration. MALDI-MSI revealed homogeneously distributed larvae, pyraquinil-sulfone presented continuous enrichment midgut accumulation. Conversely, located hemolymph can preferentially eliminated depuration, suggesting tissue tropism. It improves fate provides useful information for mechanism elucidation optimization pyraquinil.

Background: Escalating global plastic production, expected to reach 34,000 million tons by 2050, poses a significant threat human and environmental well-being, particularly in aquatic ecosystems. Microplastics (MP) nanoplastics (NP), which originate from the degradation of plastics, are concern due their potential bioaccumulation uptake pollutants. This study addresses identification methods focuses on insect meal, raw material for aquaculture feed. Methods: By using different techniques, was able detect MP NP meal samples. Chemical digestion with KOH at 60 °C efficiently removed organic matter without affecting synthetic polymer polyethylene (PE). Filtration, confocal Raman microscopy, SEM, TEM were used comprehensive analysis, integrity tests PE films performed FTIR spectroscopy. The results showed presence microplastic particles confirmed correlative SEM mapping positively charged surface. In addition, increased resolution microscope identified submicrometric (800 nm). Prussian blue analogues are one of the most promising examples water oxidation catalysts presenting great performance, activity, and stability under mild conditions. Herein, we report an alternative methodology to synthesize blue, obtaining a catalyst with vacancies created by electrochemical method. This showed outstanding onset overpotential 361 mV. Using pyridine as molecular probe, identified presence vacant Fe2+ sites, quantification these sites allowed us estimate TOF number 0.2170 s–1 for reaction. These results indicate that defect engineering is versatile strategy boost catalytic activity in increasing active sites.

It has been well established in the literature that surface contamination can adversely affect aerodynamic performance of aerofoils and hence efficiency with which turbines convert wind to electrical power.
