Abstract Starch, an insoluble natural polymer, can be spread into a Langmuir monolayer on the surface of water as amylodextrin by solubilization, where it forms spherical single‐particle layer at air–water interface. In this study, we fabricated two‐dimensional mixed from soluble starch and organo‐modified montmorillonite attempted to control its morphology varying mixing ratio. The behavior was dependent spreading solvent miniaturization possible using suitable for starch. Although both materials formed phase‐separated systems, nearly homogeneous particle layers were in some cases because clay miniaturization. However, X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy showed that components remained intact rectangular derived aluminosilicate observed film with high Functionalization clearly demonstrated hydrophilic properties imparted particles selective adsorption biomolecules surface.
