Solid phase microextraction (SPME) has emerged as a versatile sample preparation technique for the preconcentration of broad range compounds with various polarities, especially in environmental studies. SPME demonstrated its eco-friendly credentials, significantly reducing reliance on solvents. The zeolitic imidazolate framework-67 (ZIF-67) has been explored for the dynamic adsorption of toluene vapor. We synthesized ZIF-67 through a straightforward room-temperature process and characterized it using XRD, FT-IR, DLS, SEM techniques. possessed Brunauer–Emmett–Teller (BET) surface area 1578.7 m2/g 0.76 μm particle size. Thermal activation under various conditions revealed that ZIF-67, activated in dry air at 250 °C, demonstrated optimal efficacy. Its capacity, time breakthrough, equilibration were 414.5 mg/g, 420 min, 795 respectively. investigated impact diverse operational parameters on breakthrough curve analysis. An increase concentration from 100 to 1000 ppm enhanced capacity 171 414 while decreased 1260 min 462 respectively.Our findings show increasing relative humidity 0 70 % reduced 53.7 46.3 time. competitive ethylbenzene had higher selectivity adsorption. A 98 adsorbent's regeneration efficiency first cycle reveals its reusability. experimental data successfully fitted Yan, Thomas, Yoon-Nelson models describe process. statistical validation model confirms their reliability estimating parameters, thus facilitating design fixed-bed columns practical applications.
