Phthalates (PAEs) are a group of synthetic esters phthalic acid compounds mostly used as plasticizers in plastic materials but widely applied most industries and products. As materials, they not chemically bound to the polymeric matrix easily leach out. Logically, PAEs should be prevalent environment, their prevalence, transport, fate, effects have been largely unknown until recently. This has attributed, inter alia, lack standardized analytical procedures for identifying them complex matrices. Nevertheless, current advancements techniques facilitate understanding environment. It is now known that can potentially impact ecological human health adversely, leading categorization endocrine-disrupting chemicals, carcinogenic, liver- kidney-failure-causing agents, which landed among contaminants emerging concern (CECs). ABSTRACT A thermo‐assisted deep eutectic solvent (DES) based on dispersive liquid‐liquid microextraction followed by gas chromatography with flame ionization detection was developed for the analysis of five phthalate esters in different water samples. In procedure involved, a DES composed lidocaine, an amphiphilic amine, and oleic acid, mixed sample assisted ultrasound, phase separation achieved increasing temperature. The heating extraction system induced change acid‐base properties components. Thus, formation microdroplets provided, two phases were separated. structure upper hydrophobic layer characterized Fourier‐transform infrared spectroscopy. Also, amount analyzed mass spectrometer Karl Fischer titration. Some critical variables yield assessed. proposed method 1.2–1.3 4.1–4.3 µg/L limits quantification, respectively. intra‐day inter‐day percentage relative standard deviations ( n = 5) determined to be range 4.2–6.2% 5.1–7.2%, Ultimately, this samples high recoveries.
