Abstract
Agro-waste
is
the
outcome
of
under-utilization
bioresources
and
a
lack
knowledge
to
re-use
this
waste
in
proper
ways
or
circular
economy
approach.
In
Indian
medicinal
system,
root
Cyperus
scariosus
(CS)
used
at
large
scale
due
their
vital
properties.
Unfortunately,
aerial
part
CS
treated
as
agro-waste
an
under-utilized
bioresource.
Due
knowledge,
weed.
This
present
study
first
ever
attempt
explore
leaves
medicinally
nutrient
rich
source.
To
determine
food
nutritional
values
neglected
R.Br.
(CS),
i.e.
leaves,
phytochemicals
metal
ions
were
quantified
by
newly
developed
HPLC
ICPOES-based
methods.
The
content
observed
analysis
for
caffeic
acid,
catechin,
epicatechin,
trans-p-coumaric
trans-ferulic
acid
was
10.51,
276.15,
279.09,
70.53,
36.83
µg/g,
respectively.
GC–MS/MS
analysis,
fatty
acids
including
linolenic
phytol,
palmitic
etc.

Abstract
BACKGROUND:

herbal
medicine

therapeutic
properties.

the
present
study,

Ayurvedic
formulation

one
major

evaluated
