Abstract Background The RP-HPLC method has been established to simultaneous estimation of seven markers in polyherbal formulation JKC using the C 18 (25 × 0.46 cm, i.d,5 µm) column. mobile phase consisted methanol: water (80:20) at a flow rate 1.0 mL/min and observed retention time 2 11 min with sharp points. marker compounds viz. Andrographolide (AG), Piperine (PP), Picroside-I (P-I), Picroside-II (P-II), α-Cyprone (AC), 6-Shogaol (6S), 6-Gingerol (6G) were quantified formulations by HPLC method. Detection was performed wavelength (λ) 229 nm for AG, 343 PP, 279 P-I, 264 P-II, 254 AC, 280 both 6S 6G HPLC–PDA detector. Abstract Agro-waste is the outcome of under-utilization bioresources and a lack knowledge to re-use this waste in proper ways or circular economy approach. In Indian medicinal system, root Cyperus scariosus (CS) used at large scale due their vital properties. Unfortunately, aerial part CS treated as agro-waste an under-utilized bioresource. Due knowledge, weed. This present study first ever attempt explore leaves medicinally nutrient rich source. To determine food nutritional values neglected R.Br. (CS), i.e. leaves, phytochemicals metal ions were quantified by newly developed HPLC ICPOES-based methods. The content observed analysis for caffeic acid, catechin, epicatechin, trans-p-coumaric trans-ferulic acid was 10.51, 276.15, 279.09, 70.53, 36.83 µg/g, respectively. GC–MS/MS analysis, fatty acids including linolenic phytol, palmitic etc. identified. ICPOES significant Na, K, Ca, Cu, Fe, Mg, Mn, Zn observed. TPC TFC 17.933 mg GAE eq./g 130.767 QCE along with IC 50 value 2.78 mg/mL DPPH assay better antacid activity measured than standard (CaCO 3 ). methanolic extract showed anti-microbial against Staphylococcus aureus (15 ± 2 mm), Pseudomonas aeruginosa (12 mm) Escherichia coli (10 mm). silico studies confirmed vitro results obtained from antioxidant, antiacid, studies. addition, revealed anti-cancerous anti-inflammatory potential leaves. study, thus, demonstrated significance conversion into mankind pharmaceutical potent material. Consequently, highlighted that have importance good utility industry improving bio-valorization environment.

Abstract BACKGROUND: The Indian herbal medicine system Ayurveda has a rich history associated with use of gum Guggulu ( Commiphora wightii (Arn.) Bhandari; CM) for its therapeutic properties. In the present study, CM resin and Guggulu- based polyherbal Ayurvedic formulation (PHAF; having as one major components) were evaluated estimation Guggulsterone-Z (GZ) using high-performance planar liquid chromatography techniques. METHODS: HPTLC analysis, identification GZ was carried out in PHAF extract silica gel-coated aluminum plate stationary phase toluene: acetone (90:10% v/v) mobile phase. developed chromatograms scanned at 254 nm 366 nm, whereas chromatogram after derivatization vanillin-sulfuric acid reagent 540 nm. used HPLC analysis included water (with 1% KH 2 PO 4 buffer) acetonitrile (20:80% v/v). performed UV wavelength 245 RESULTS: respective retention times indicated presence PHAF, quantity within samples 0.5020% 0.2994%, respectively. CONCLUSION: fingerprints can be to identify quantify GZ. Furthermore, these methods will beneficial determining well detecting adulteration resin.
