Most common adsorbents in research reports are powdered two-dimensional carbon materials, including activated and graphene, which tend to be lost during water treatment cause secondary contamination. In this work, a hydrogel composed of three-dimensional graphene-doped acidified multiwalled nanotubes (3DG/A-MWCNTs) was synthesized. The hydrogels with large specific surface areas defect structures exhibited outstanding integration, compressive capacity, negligible loss. as-obtained material added column as continuous fixed-bed reactor (FBR). 3DG/A-MWCNTs packed the FBR superior adsorption peroxymonosulfate (PMS) activation achieve 56.2% naproxen (NPX) removal efficiency after 1150 min. operation parameters were systematically optimized PMS concentration, initial pH, coexisting anions, bed height, hydraulic retention time. Significantly, quenching, electron paramagnetic resonance, electrochemical tests used demonstrate that reactive oxygen species (SO4•–, •OH, O2•–, 1O2) transfer involved NPX degradation. presence active sites, vacancies, electron-rich, oxygen-containing functional groups, within promoted their preeminent catalytic activity. maintains 66.2% for six repetitions exhibits excellent purification ability various pollutants actual water. These results suggest performs well practical applications. Overall, study expands environmental application graphene provides promising metal-free materials eliminating refractory contaminants flow mode by using PMS-based advanced oxidation processes.
