The development of bifunctional ionic polymers as heterogeneous catalysts for effective, cocatalyst- and metal-free cycloaddition carbon dioxide into cyclic carbonates has attracted increasing attention. However, facile fabrication such having high numbers active sites, suitable types hydrogen bond donors (HBDs), controlled spatial positions dual sites remains a challenging task. Herein, imidazolium-based with hydroxyl/carboxyl groups density were facilely prepared by one-pot quaternization reaction. Catalytic evaluation demonstrated that the presence HBDs (hydroxyl or carboxyl) could enhance catalytic activities significantly toward CO2 Among catalysts, carboxyl-functionalized polymer (PIMBr-COOH) displayed highest activity (94% yield) in benchmark reaction epichlorohydrin, which was higher than hydroxyl-functionalized (PIMBr-OH, 76% yield), far exceeded without (PIMBr, 54% yield). Furthermore, PIMBr-COOH good recyclability wide substrate tolerance. Under ambient pressure, number epoxides smoothly cycloadded carbonates. Additionally, functional theory (DFT) calculation verified formation strong bonds between epoxide polymers. possible mechanism proposed based on synergistic effect carboxyl Br- functionalities. Thus, facile, synthetic strategy construction developed fixation.

Abstract Malaria remains a severe infectious disease caused by Plasmodium parasites among the primarily afflicting impoverished populations. According to World Health Organization (WHO) report, there were an estimated 247 million malarial cases globally, resulting in approximately 6,19,000 fatalities. Particularly prevalent tropical and subtropical regions, development of drug resistance has exacerbated this public health challenge. Consequently, been concrete effort explore novel compounds with anti‐malarial properties.
