Silk proteins, viz., sericin, fibroin and their modified forms etc., have been thoroughly researched as natural biopolymers for the development of varied nanomaterials exhibiting diverse biomedical applications. The silk proteins are extracted from cocoons by degumming treatment with soaps, followed dissolution dialysis against water. These exhibit distinct mechanical physicochemical characteristics including biocompatibility, controlled biodegradability, self-assembling traits, chemical modifiability, adaptability, thus making it an ideal drug delivery vehicle. In this regard, protein-derived systems reported efficient carrier to encapsulate stabilize wide variety pharmacological molecules, enzymes, vaccines, even DNA, allowing them remain active a longer period time. Further, different carriers employing these multitude applications include hydrogels, sponges, fibres, scaffolds particulate systems. Additionally, modification has further opened avenues other improved traits hence enormous potential in bioenhanced current article provides holistic information characteristics, types protein-based carriers, fabrication techniques, while emphasizing biomedicine delivery.

In this study, the synthesis of a new chitosan-based Schiff base with surface modification using chloroethanoic acid was reported. The physicochemical attributes modified chitosan were studied. characterized X-ray diffraction (XRD) technique; Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) and UV-visible spectroscopies; thermogravimetric analysis; differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). Bruner-Emmett-Teller (BET) analysis performed to determine area synthesized compound electron microscope (SEM) characterize its morphology. adsorption efficacy Bismarck Brown R evaluated through multilayer formation, whereas Eosin Y adsorbed onto homogenous formation monolayer. Additionally, base's for BBR EY dye calculated be 327 mg/g 386 mg/g, respectively. effectively inhibited both gram positive negative bacteria, thus, exhibiting antibacterial properties. results showed that could used remove dyes from wastewater.

Sericin, a natural macromolecular protein and the main component of silkworm cocoons, exhibits biocompatibility, excellent mechanical properties, biodegradability. Previous research has confirmed that sericin possesses anticancer properties. Gastric cancer (GC) poses serious hazard to human health, with low rate early diagnosis poor prognosis. Investigating safety effectiveness drugs for their used in treatment is imperative. In this study, we Antherea pernyi (APS) inhibited proliferation, migration, clonal formation GC cells caused apoptosis by regulating expression Bcl2 Bax. Moreover, our data show APS did not exhibit significant toxicity normal gastric mucosal mice. Furthermore, results suppressed proliferation cisplatin-resistant promoted cellular apoptosis; however, it had no synergistic effects cisplatin. All indicated antitumor activity against prospective medicinal agent clinical GC, minimal adverse side effects. This can provide theoretical basis field tumor treatment, especially application polypeptide drugs.
