Abstract Marine water‐lubricated bearings have the advantages of environmental friendliness and long replacement cycle. However, when under complex lubrication circumstance, frictional vibrational behaviors bearing always dissipate mechanical energy output from ship's diesel engine. Aiming at this problem combining with previous research findings, in paper, ceramic balls similar properties to main shaft were selected as friction counterpart simulate operating conditions marine bearing. Meanwhile, dual nanoparticles tungsten disulfide (WS 2 ) titanium dioxide (TiO used modify ultra‐high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) material. The tribological prepared composites carefully investigated. results showed that compared pure UHMWPE, synergistic effect 0.75 wt% WS 0.9 TiO , reduced by 43.3% 42.7%. Mechanical testing microscopic characterization revealed enhancement mechanism these on UHMWPE. This study proposed a design strategy for engineering application.
