Plant diseases cause famines, drive human migration, and present challenges to agricultural sustainability as pathogen ranges shift under climate change. breeders discovered Mendelian genetic loci conferring disease resistance specific isolates over 100 years ago. Subsequent breeding for underpins modern agriculture and, along with the emergence focus on model plants genetics genomics research, has provided rich resources molecular biological exploration last 50 years. These studies led identification of extracellular intracellular receptors that convert recognition microbe-encoded patterns or pathogen-delivered virulence effectors into defense activation. receptor systems, downstream responses, define plant immune systems have evolved since migration land ∼500 million Our current understanding provides platform development rational enhancement control many continue plague crop production.

Nucleotide-binding oligomerization domain (NOD)-like receptors, also known as nucleotide-binding leucine-rich repeat receptors (NLRs), are a family of cytosolic pattern recognition that detect wide variety pathogenic and sterile triggers. Activation specific NLRs initiates pro- or anti-inflammatory signaling cascades the formation inflammasomes—multi-protein complexes induce caspase-1 activation to drive inflammatory cytokine maturation lytic cell death, pyroptosis. Certain inflammasomes act integral components larger death complexes—PANoptosomes—driving another form PANoptosis. Here, we review current understanding evolution, structure, function in health disease. We discuss concept NLR networks their roles driving immunity. An improved mechanistic may provide therapeutic strategies applicable across infectious diseases cancer.

Summary Plants face a relentless onslaught from diverse array of pathogens in their natural environment, to which they have evolved myriad strategies that unfold across various temporal scales. Cell surface pattern recognition receptors (PRRs) detect conserved elicitors or endogenous molecules released during pathogen invasion, initiating the first line defence plants, known as pattern‐triggered immunity (PTI), imparts baseline level disease resistance. Inside host cells, effectors are sensed by nucleotide‐binding/leucine‐rich repeat (NLR) receptors, then activate second defence: effector‐triggered (ETI), offering more potent and enduring mechanism. Moreover, PTI ETI collaborate synergistically bolster resistance collectively trigger cascade downstream responses. This article provides comprehensive review plant responses, an overview stepwise activation interactions between PTI‐ETI synergistic signal transduction.

Pathogen effector-induced assembly of resistosomes has been established as an important event for nucleotide binding and leucine-rich repeat-containing receptor (NLR) signaling in plants. The pentameric coiled-coil domain-containing NLR (CNL) act Ca2+-permeable channels, whereas the tetrameric Toll-interleukin 1-like (TIR) (TNL) are NADase holoenzymes.TNL catalyze production nucleotide-derived second messengers to activate downstream helper NLRs activated disease resistance 1 (ADR1) N requirement gene (NRG1) CNL class. Abstract Banana is one of the most important crops world. Cavendish-type bananas, which have a monospecific Musa acuminata origin (AAA), account for around half global banana production, thereby are great significance human societies. However, until now, high-quality haplotype-resolved reference genome was still undecoded cultivars. Here, we reported telomere-to-telomere (T2T) and ‘Baxijiao’ (Cavendish) consisting three haploid assemblies. The sizes assemblies were estimated to be 477.16 Mb, 477.18 469.57 respectively. Although with origins, showed differences low levels sequence collinearity. Several large reciprocal translocations identified among chromosomes 1, 4, 7. An expansion gene families that might affect fruit quality aroma detected, such as those belonging sucrose/disaccharide/oligosaccharide catabolic processes, sucrose metabolic process, starch aromatic compound biosynthetic process.
