Real-time monitoring of canopy chlorophyll content is significant in understanding crop growth status and guiding precision agricultural management. Remote sensing methods have demonstrated great potential this regard. However, the spatiotemporal heterogeneity within canopies poses challenges to accuracy stability remote estimation models. Hence, study aimed develop a novel method for estimating (represented by SPAD values) maize ( Zea mays L.) canopies. Firstly, we investigated distribution patterns values under varying nitrogen application rates different stages. The results revealed non-uniform, “bell-shaped” curve vertical direction. Nitrogen significantly influenced structure canopy.
