The rhizosphere microbiota recruited by plants contributes significantly to maintaining host productivity and resisting stress. However, the genetic mechanisms which regulate this recruitment process remain largely unclear. Here, we generated a comprehensive dataset, including 27 root transcriptomes, metabolomes, 54 bulk or soil 16S rRNA amplicons across nine poplar species from four sections grown in nutrient-poor natural soil, along with eleven growth phenotype data. We provided thorough description of followed co-expression network analysis example that broke down wall four-way relationship between plant gene-metabolite-microbe-phenotype, thus identifying links gene expression, metabolite accumulation, behavior, microbiome variation under conditions. Overall, dataset enhances our understanding microbe interactions, offering valuable strategies novel insights for resolving how microbial compositions functions, thereby improving fitness, will benefit future research.

ABSTRACT The root-knot nematode (RKN) Meloidogyne incognita is one of the most destructive plant-parasitic nematodes (PPNs) affecting crop production worldwide. Our earlier study revealed that calcinated oyster shell powder (OSP) effectively suppressed tobacco RKN disease. However, suppression mechanism OSP against RKNs remain unknown. reduced root–knot index by more than 38% inhibiting migration second-stage juveniles (J2) in soil. Furthermore, J2 density rhizosphere 43.69% and significantly increased soil pH 0.68; moreover, contents exchangeable calcium (ExchCa) magnesium (ExchMg) 50%. Moreover, properties, including ExchMg, ExchCa pH, enhanced microbial-mediated J2. Specifically, Proteobacteria Gemmatimonadota dominated microbial community suppressing RKN, fungal richness contributed to RKNs; addition, Chloroflexi Acidobacteria promoting prosperity. reuse wasted as an innovative antagonist a promising avenue for ecofriendly management strategies.
