ABSTRACT The Bi x O y I z and CoFe 2 4 combination enhances photocatalytic degradation of tetracyclines (TCs). Three TC antibiotics including TC, oxytetracycline (OTC), chlortetracycline (CTC) with high concentration (50 mg L −1 ) were utilized as target pollutant. 5 7 I/Bi , its Z‐scheme, improves removal efficiency to 1.6 times that 1.4 . Ternary /CoFe (I/I/Co) composites further increase efficiency, I/I/Co‐2 achieving I/I‐2. improved performance is due an optimized microstructure, which promotes light absorption carrier transfer. nanoparticles on nanosheets create a double‐Z band structure, enhancing redox activity. Radical trapping experiments indicated the major active species (•O − OH h + in process I/I/Co‐2. Based their enhanced efficiencies for high‐concentration TCs, proper magnetic separation capacity, recycling performance, practical applications I/I/Co treat real wastewater might be implemented.

Abstract Semiconductor photocatalytic technology holds immense promise for converting sustainable solar energy into chemically storable energy, with significant applications in the realms of and environment. However, inherent issue rapid recombination photogenerated electrons holes hinders performance single photocatalysts. To overcome this challenge, construction 2D S‐scheme heterojunction photocatalysts emerges as an effective strategy. The deliberate design dimensionality ensures a substantial interfacial area; while, charge transfer mechanism facilitates efficient separation maximizes redox capabilities. This review commences fresh perspective on heterojunctions, followed by comprehensive exploration preparation methods characterization techniques. Subsequently, recent advancements are summarized. Notably, behind activity enhancement is elucidated. Finally, prospects development presented.

S-scheme heterojunctions have become a hot topic in photocatalysis. Copper (Cu) compounds are versatile family of photocatalytic materials, including oxides (CuO, Cu2O), binary (CuBi2O4, CuFe2O4), sulfides (CuxS, (1 ≤ x 2)), selenides (CuSe), phosphides (Cu3P), metal organic frameworks (MOFs), etc. These materials characterized by narrow bandgaps, large absorption coefficients, and suitable band positions. To further increase the efficiency photoinduced charge separation, Cu-based widely integrated into exploited for hydrogen evolution reaction (HER), CO2 reduction, H2O2 generation, N2 fixation, pollutant degradation. This review comprehensively discusses recent progress heterojunctions, highlights their considerable potential targeted applications sustainable energy conversion, environmental remediation, beyond. The fundamentals transfer, design principles verification tools summarized. Then, describes categorized according to chemical composition, integration applications. In particular, implications transfer mechanism on promoting catalytic activity selected systems analyzed. Finally, current limitations outlooks provided motivate future studies developing novel advanced photocatalysts with high performance studying underlying mechanisms.

Semiconductor based photo-catalysts which was an efficient process to treat water and wastewater.There are various techniques can be used for enhancement of photo-catalytic properties such as element rich strategy, defect control facet engineering.Many methods were manufacturing BiOBr, including ion-exchange method, solvothermal wet-chemical ultra-sonication co-precipitation method hydrothermal method.Various operational parameters have initial pH solution, catalyst dosage inorganic ions been employed show their roles on the photo-degradation efficiency pollutants.Elemental doping coupled semiconductors widely using enhancing BiOBr performance.It concluded that binary ternary composites ability activity increased degradation more than 50% compared with pure BiOBr.According suitable band structure, bismuth bromide oxide is a promising candidate wastewater efficiently by technique.
