Abstract The corrosion inhibition properties and mechanisms of quinoline quaternary ammonium salt (QA) L-methionine (LM) on pre-corroded Q235 carbon steel in 1wt% HCl solution were studied using the weight loss method molecular simulation technology. degree pre-corrosion will affect performance inhibitor. QA LM compete to adsorb iron surface form a film, repulsion between product film reduces slow-release performance.

The screening of environmentally friendly, efficient and high-temperature-resistant organic corrosion inhibitors represents a significant means reducing metal losses in industrial production. In this study, we investigated using aliphatic amine-functionalized perylene-diimide (PDINN) to inhibit Q235 steel 1 M HCl media. results show that PDINN significantly inhibits HCl. It is greater significance PDINN’s inhibition unresponsive temperature fluctuations the corrosive environment, maintaining an efficiency 86.5% at ambient 328 K. DFT MD analyses indicate exceptional inhibitory capacity closely associated with extensive conjugated structure within molecule, where it firmly adsorbed on Fe (110) via π-electrons.
