Ammonium dinitramide (ADN), which has the advantages of high energy density, no halogen and low characteristic signal, is not only considered as a new high-energy oxidizer that expected to replace traditional ammonium perchlorate (AP) in solid propellants, but also good performance explosive itself. However, due strong hygroscopicity ADN, its application propellants explosives greatly limited. Solving ADN key realize wide ADN. In this paper, we systematically review research progress anti-hygroscopic strategies coating. The surface coating methods are focusing on solvent volatilization, solvent-non-solvent, melt crystallization atomic layer deposition technology. characteristics different compared analyzed, basis for classification selection materials introduced detail. addition, feasibility material evaluated by several compatibility analysis methods. It highly liquid phase method (solvent volatilization method, solvent-non-solvent method) would be promising future because effective, safety facile operation. Furthermore, polymer materials, preferred their viscosity, easy adhesion, effect, heat resistance, make weak hygroscopicity, less sensitive, easier preserve compatibility.
