Abstract In the recent development of advanced chemicals used to influence electrolyte/substrate interface; novel ILs have made subsequent progress in affecting kinetics electrochemical reactions a sustainable manner. this research, Imidazole-based IL [EMIM Ac] and conventional organic Imidazoline inhibitor were investigated for their effectiveness upon carbon steel alloy C1018 coupons 3.5 wt% NaCl environment. To study corrosion behavior, techniques employed at stationary state, maintaining 60°C with increasing concentration, surface morphology was analyzed help SEM EDAX characterization. The outcome from potentiodynamic polarization test showed gradual decrease current densities as concentration increases. Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS) results corroborated increased charge transfer resistance (Rct) concerning supporting higher magnitudes, efficiency also increases inhibitors. Furthermore, frequency dispersion electrochemistry tests observed compounds since substrate interface is coarse. Finally, characterization sample signs pitting on surface. coupon underwent uniform corrosion.
