Sengon wood sawdust (SWS) is a solid waste of the industry with potential as source cellulose and can increase its economic value. However, in plants tightly bound to lignin which called lignocellulose therefore needs be delignified before utilization. In this study, we determined optimum conditions for delignification from sengon (SWSC). Optimization variables were parameter obtained hemicellulose, cellulose, content. The optimization SWSC was then carried out using factorial design by analyzing effect sodium hydroxide (NaOH) concentration (2% - 10%) ratio (SWS : NaOH solution) (1:10 – 1:80) on Optimal at 2% (1:19.20) concentrations 8.01% 52.49% 22.2% lignin. One sample T-test analysis predictive research values showed insignificant results (P>0.05) means that equation proved valid determine sawdust. FT-IR analysis, SEM imaging, particle size distribution (PSA profile) produced under these has similar characteristics standard Avicel® PH 102.

This work presents the development of hierarchical niobium pentoxide (Nb2O5)-based composite nanofiber membranes for integrated adsorption and photocatalytic degradation methylene blue (MB) pollutants from aqueous solutions. The Nb2O5 nanorods were vertically grown using a hydrothermal process on base electrospun nanofibrous membrane made polyacrylonitrile/polyvinylidene fluoride/ammonium niobate (V) oxalate hydrate (Nb2O5@PAN/PVDF/ANO). They characterized field-emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis, Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy. These nanofibers possessed narrow optical bandgap energy 3.31 ​eV demonstrated an MB efficiency 96 ​% after 480 ​min contact time. pseudo-first-order kinetic study was also conducted, in which Nb2O5@PAN/PVDF/ANO have constant values 1.29 ​× ​10−2 ​min−1 0.30 solutions, respectively. are 17.7 7.8 times greater than those PAN/PVDF/ANO without nanostructures. Besides their outstanding performance, developed materials exhibit advantageous characteristics recycling, subsequently widen practical use environmental remediation applications.

Bio-based activated carbon is a promising porous material for the use in electrodes supercapacitors due to its low-cost production, high surface area with controllable pore structure and better thermal properties. Apart from activation type conditions, content of lignocellulosic biomass (namely cellulose, hemicellulose lignin) also critical parameter on textural properties carbon. In present study, glycerol organosolv treatment was applied fractionate lignin cellulose hazelnut shells. Hazelnut shell, cellulose-rich pulp mixed separately KOH at ratio 1:2, each mixture 1 hours 800°C. FTIR results showed that lignin-based (AL) cellulose-based carbons (AC) had more oxygen-containing functional groups, while AL aromatic structure. While shell (ANS) highest specific (1052.2 m2/g) micropore volume (0.427cm3/g), AC least (319.07 (0.107cm3/g). ANS microporous structure, classified as mesoporous Due amount oxygen-rich diameter higher 1nm, good candidate be used an electrode material. But, since are not only factors affect capacitance, future work will include electrochemical performance test ANS, AC.

Abstract In this study, activated carbon was synthesized from palm oil empty fruit bunches through two different carbonization and activation processes used as carbon-based electrodes for supercapacitor. The produced by a combination of the hydrothermal pyrolysis methods using melamine nitrogen source dopant potassium chloride an activating agent. effect temperature on crystalline structure, crystallite size, functional groups, surface characteristics resulting carbon, which applied in electric double-layer capacitor. performance evaluated, suggesting that prepared at 950°C showed highest specific capacitance 389.122 F/g current density 1 A/g with energy power densities 13.511 125 W/kg, respectively. Overall results suggest are promising cellulosic sources synthesizing supercapacitors.
