Abstract Oxide nanomaterials are widely used to enhance the mechanical properties of epoxy resins (EP) owing their high strength and toughness. However, stress concentration caused by agglomeration limits performance. This paper proposes a new method simultaneously improve toughness EP introducing CuO nanorods with surface‐grafted flexible linear polymer into cross‐linking network. forms rigid–flexible chain interpenetrating structure in system, covalent bonding network, facilitating controllable adjustment crosslinking density system. Thus, goal enhancing toughening is achieved. Experimental results show that modified BCN‐CuO/EP 91.2 1.77 MPa·m 1/2 , respectively, which 76.0% 92.3% better than those pure EP, respectively. study provides insights for improving performance EP. Highlights The integration polymers (BTCI) led increase improvement resin (EP), showcasing significant gains. introduced novel “rigid–flexible” network achieved through bonding, optimally adjusts mitigates concentration. research highlights effectiveness combining BTCI systems, opening pathways characteristics composite materials.
