Carbon-based nanomaterials (CBNMs), including graphene, carbon nanotubes (CNTs), fullerenes, and nanodiamonds, are poised to revolutionize sustainable environmental applications. Graphene's unparalleled mechanical strength, electrical conductivity, thermal properties make it crucial for water purification energy storage. CNTs, with their exceptional tensile chemical stability, vital in pollution control conversion. Fullerenes, noted electronic high reactivity, excel remediation. Nanodiamonds offer hardness, biocompatibility, promising applications from soil remediation biomedical engineering. However, challenges such as toxicity, cost, scalability must be addressed. Future research should focus on overcoming these hurdles fostering interdisciplinary collaboration fully harness CBNMs solutions.
