In remote areas or islands like Cyprus, the isolated energy system, high consumption in transport sector and projected excess electricity production from solar sources create favourable conditions for establishing a hydrogen valley. But even after addressing technological, managerial, economic financial challenges, success of valley hinges on acceptance engagement local population. The role citizens is under-researched by academia overlooked policymakers. Our paper’s contribution unique data purposefully developed survey Cypriot residents. findings reveal robust support renewable transition principle, with 90% expressing supportive views, which 57% ‘strongly support’ transition, notably, middle-aged, more educated fully employed individuals showing strongest support. At same time, our results show that 62% are unfamiliar concept economy. promising finding 80% ‘very likely’ (25%) ‘somewhat (55%) to engage discussions activities related creation Cyprus. Gender differences willingness are, however, evident: 32% males indicated they participate versus 23% females. We conclude prevailing citizen behaviour Cyprus “Seeking Information”, we make policy suggestions outlining top ten tools foster awareness among general population strategies targeting active supporters elevate their involvement ‘Action’ ‘Advocacy’ levels engagement.

Hydrogen's potential as a clean energy carrier is increasingly recognized, but its storage remains significant challenge. Sodium borohydride (NaBH4) stands out an efficient hydrogen medium due to high gravimetric capacity and safety profile. This review paper provides comprehensive analysis of the research progress in NaBH4 hydrolysis for production from 2004 2024. discusses advantages NaBH4, including yield, stability, controlled release, regeneration into by-product sodium metaborate. surveys various catalysts used enhance reaction, such cobalt, nickel, ruthenium, noble metals, emphasizing their efficiency, recyclability, economic viability. It also examines influence reaction conditions like temperature, pH, concentration on process. Additives modifiers that improve kinetics yield are discussed. further explores recycling which crucial sustainable economy. outlines three main approaches: thermochemical, mechanochemical, electrochemical methods, each with challenges.
