L-theanine, a unique non-protein amino acid predominantly found in tea plants (Camellia sinensis), plays pivotal role plant responses to abiotic stress and significantly influences quality. In this review, the metabolism transport mechanisms of L-theanine are comprehensively discussed, highlighting its spatial distribution plants, where it is most abundant young leaves less so roots, stems, older leaves. The biosynthesis occurs through enzymatic conversion glutamate ethylamine, catalyzed by theanine synthase, primarily from transported aerial parts for further catabolism. Environmental factors such as temperature, light, drought, elevated CO2, nutrient unavailability, heavy metals affect hydrolysis, with hormones transcription playing crucial regulatory roles. Furthermore, has been demonstrated that applying exogenously improves other crops’ resistance range stresses, suggesting potential utility improving crop resilience amid climate change. This review aims elucidate physiological biological functions under conditions, providing theoretical foundation enhancing quality cultivation.

The NAC family is among the most extensive sets of plant-exclusive transcription factors (TFs), which are crucial for various plant development and stress response processes. Although a growing number studies have been carried out on in different species, it has not characterized Glycyrrhiza uralensis. To thoroughly understand effects methyl jasmonate (MeJA) sodium chloride (NaCl) inductions TFs investigate underlying regulatory mechanism to MeJA NaCl biosynthesis metabolites, we used transcriptome sequencing combined with qRT‒PCR explore differential gene expression. The biochemical and transcriptional regulatory mechanisms of chlorophyll metabolism have been extensively studied, but the translational remain poorly understood. In this study, we found that NtDHS1 deficiency in N. tabacum resulted smaller leaves increased leaf content. Protein content determination experiments revealed global protein synthesis Ntdhs1 mutant was decreased. A ribosome profiling sequence (Ribo-seq) assay showed translation level genes related to cell growth significantly reduced, while mutant.
