Background In recent years, the use of digital technology in education health care professionals has surged, partly driven by COVID-19 pandemic. However, there is still a need for focused research to establish evidence its effectiveness. Objective This study aimed define gaps efficacy and identify priority areas where future potential contribute our understanding education. Methods We used 2-stage approach priorities. First, an umbrella review literature (published between 2020 2023) was performed build on existing work. Second, expert consensus questions obtained using modified Delphi method. Results A total 8857 potentially relevant papers were identified. Using PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items Systematic Reviews Meta-Analyses) methodology, we included 217 full review. All either systematic reviews or meta-analyses. 151 recommendations extracted from papers. These analyzed, recategorized, consolidated create final list 63 questions. From these, process with 42 experts produce top-five rated priorities: (1) How do measure learning transfer into clinical setting? (2) can optimize artificial intelligence, machine learning, deep facilitate training? (3) What are methodological requirements high-quality rigorous studies assessing outcomes education? (4) does design interventions (eg, format modality) professionals’ training curriculum affect outcomes? (5) should field professions’ be defined standardized? Conclusions provides prioritized care, which will researchers, educators, providers, funding agencies. Additional proposals discussed regarding next steps needed advance this agenda, aiming promote meaningful practical technologies drive excellence

Abstract Background 360° video and virtual reality (VR) simulation may offer innovative opportunities as portable simulation-based technologies to enhance Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) training, updates, refreshers. The purpose of this study was compare the use with VR in NRP training effect on learning outcomes. Methods Thirty ( N = 30) providers were randomly assigned either or groups n 15 each) pre posttests confidence, user satisfaction, usefulness, presence, simulator sickness, a performance demonstration positive pressure ventilation (PPV) manikin-simulator. Participants then exposed other condition again post-tested. Results Both systems positively viewed. However, participants reported significantly higher perceptions usefulness enhancing increased sense presence simulation. gained more confidence certain skills, such proper mask placement (adjusted p -value 0.038) newborn response evaluation 0.017). A blinded assessment PPV skills showed performed better providing effective 0.005). Conclusions found both useful; however, helpful improving learning. an feeling areas crucial skill, PPV. alternative modality for increasing access standardized refresher NRP.

Diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) mission statements continue to be adopted by academic institutions in general, dental schools around the globe particular. But DEI content seems under-developed education. The objectives of this study were two-fold: extract information from all PBL cases at University British Columbia’s Faculty Dentistry curriculum terms diversity, equitable representation, patient provider characteristics, context, treatment outcomes; and; compare these findings with composition Columbia census population, practice contextual factors, evidence on outcomes within care. Information 58 was extracted between January March 2023, focusing characteristics (e.g., age, gender, ethnicity), context type insurance), successful/unsuccessful). This compared available literature. From cases, 0.4% included non-straight patients, while least 4% BC residents self-identify as non-straight; there no involving First Nations patients although they make up 6% population. Less than 10% involved older adults who almost 20% Only Treatments without a disability 5.74 times more likely successful those ( p <0.05). portrayed existing seem differ what is known about outcome success, context; disconnect exist. should revised better represent population which most students will practice.
