Abstract Plasticity is the ability to modify brain and behavior allows transition from psychopathology mental wellbeing. High plasticity has been associated high susceptibility contextual factors, e.g., living conditions, which ultimately drive outcome. Here, we exploited network analysis show that – i.e., depression score can be assessed by measuring symptom connectivity: weaker connectivity, higher plasticity, resulting in a greater modification mood symptoms. We analyzed STAR*D dataset proved connectivity strength at baseline responder compared non-responder patients. Moreover, was inversely correlated with improvement (Pearson's r=-0.87) change according context r=-0.77). This operationalization of provides mathematical tool investigate predict resilience, vulnerability recovery, develop novel approaches for prevention treatment depression.

The complex dyadic interaction of stress and resilience has received growing attention as a promising avenue for informing new diagnostic prognostic models human health. In this review, we present selection some the most relevant data on translational biomarkers in field mental Several critical aspects concerning preclinical clinical model development are addressed. distance between disease widened with time across all fields medicine, psychiatry presenting additional hurdles represented by inherent heterogeneity studied phenotypes. Capitalizing technological advances developing consolidating sound theories stress-resilience represents avenue, possibly endowed greater ecological validity compared to sole socio-psychological assessment. Instrumental advancing will be an increased level integration researchers' efforts biomarkers, aiming elucidate better interindividual impact exposure individuals' health behavior.

Methamphetamine (MA) use disorder is a chronic neurotoxic brain disease characterized by high risk of relapse driven intense cravings. However, the neurobiological signatures cravings remain unclear, limiting effectiveness various treatment methods. Diffusion MRI (dMRI) scans from 62 MA users and 57 healthy controls (HC) were used in this study. The longitudinally followed up during their period long-term abstinence (duration abstinence: 347.52±99.25 days). We systematically quantified control ability each region for craving-associated state transitions using network theory causal perspective. Craving-associated structural alterations (CSA) investigated through multivariate group comparisons biological relevance analysis. neural mechanisms underlying CSA elucidated transcriptomic neurochemical analyses. observed that abstinence-induced significantly influenced transition energy involved cognitive response to external information, which correlated with changes craving scores (r ∼ 0.35, P <0.01). Our analysis further supported crucial role prefrontal cortex (PFC) mechanisms. Notably, while PFC central craving, CSAs distributed widely across multiple regions (PFDR<0.05), strong somatomotor (PFDR<0.05) moderate high-level association networks (PFDR<0.05). Additionally, transcriptomic, chemical compounds, cell-type analyses, molecular imaging collectively highlight influence neuro-immune communication on human modulation. results offer an integrative, multi-scale perspective unraveling underpinnings suggest signaling may be promising target future addiction therapeutics.

ObjectivesBipolar and unipolar depressions have a similar clinical picture, but different neurological psychological mechanisms. These misleading similarities can lead to overdiagnosis increased suicide risk. Recent studies show that gait is sensitive objective marker for distinguishing the type of depression. The present study aims compare psychomotor reactivity disorders activity in bipolar depression.MethodsA total 636 people aged 40.7 ± 11.2 years are studied with an ultrasound cranio-corpo-graph. They divided into three groups - patients depression, depression healthy controls. Each person performs tasks classic Unterberger task, simplified version open eyes complex additional cognitive task.ResultsWe find significant differences between groups. Bipolar more inhibited skills than they both norms. variant equilibriometric task most one precise activity.ConclusionBoth could be markers psychiatric conditions. application cranio-corpo-graph possible development devices new diagnostic therapeutic approaches, including early detection prediction
