Introduction. The integration of neuroscience and psychotherapy research has long been a topic interest in the field mental health.Problem. A significant challenge is understanding dyadic interaction between patient therapist. This complex, emerging from myriad multi-level factors such as gestures, verbal communication, mentalization, environmental influences.Objectives. article aims to present roadmap for future research, addressing complexities human interaction.Methods. We introduce 4E/MoBI approach, framework that combines theoretical methodological tools study dynamics brain, body, environment real-world settings. approach emphasizes use physiological systems (e.g., heart brain), behavioral interactions conversations eye-tracking), video recordings. Additionally, scalable experimental design (SED) heuristic discussed method blend controlled experiments with scenarios, allowing parametric testing neurobehavioral markers.Results. As practical demonstration SED within framework, concrete example using N170 event-related potential (ERP) component presented. While ERP not posited foundational marker field, it serves illustrate application hypothesis-driven designs analyses.Impact. offers promising avenue research. By existing gaps, physiology phenomenology expertise psychotherapy, this can foster virtuous relationship two disciplines, paving way more comprehensive nuanced understandings therapeutic interactions.

Abstract People enjoy engaging with music. Live music concerts provide an excellent option to investigate real-world experiences, and at the same time, use neurophysiological synchrony assess dynamic engagement. In current study, we assessed engagement in a live concert setting using of cardiorespiratory measures, comparing inter-subject, stimulus-response, correlation, phase coherence. As might be enhanced by seeing musicians perform, presented audiences audio-only (AO) audio-visual (AV) piano performances. Only correlation measures were above chance level. time-averaged across conditions, AV performances evoked higher inter-subject heart rate (ISC-HR). However, self-reported did not correspond when averaged pieces. On other hand, time-resolved analyses show that synchronized deceleration-acceleration (HR) patterns, typical ‘orienting response’ (an index directed attention), occurred within pieces salient events section boundaries. That is, perform heightened audience structurally important moments Western classical Overall, could multisensory information shapes By different further highlight advantages timeseries analysis, specifically ISC-HR, as robust measure holistic musical listening experiences naturalistic settings.

Breathing and heartbeat synchronize to each other brain function affect cognition in humans. However, it is not clear how cardiorespiratory rhythms modulate such basic processes as synaptic plasticity thought underlie learning. Thus, we studied if respiration cardiac cycle phases at burst stimulation onset hippocampal long-term potentiation (LTP) the CA3-CA1 synapse urethane-anesthetized adult male Sprague-Dawley rats. In a between-subjects design, timed of ventral commissure (vHC) systole or diastole either during expiration inspiration recorded responses throughout hippocampus with linear probe. As classical conditioning humans seems be most efficient expiration-diastole, also expected LTP was targeted expiration-diastole. induced equally all four groups phase did CA1 vHC overall. This could perhaps because bypassed natural routes external influences on by directly stimulating vHC. future, effect awake state parts tri-synaptic loop.
