ABSTRACT
Using
data
from
the
Human
Connectome
Project
in
Development
(
N
=
1304;
ages
5–21
years;
50%
male;
59%
White,
17%
Hispanic,
13%
Black,
9%
Asian),
multiple
measures
(self‐report,
salivary
hormones)
and
research
designs
(longitudinal,
cross‐sectional)
were
used
to
characterize
age‐related
changes
sex
differences
pubertal
development.
Both
sexes
exhibit
a
sigmoid
trajectory
of
development;
females
show
earlier
timing
increased
tempo
~9–13
years,
while
males
greater
~14–18
years.
All
hormones
with
age,
testosterone
DHEA
levels
rates
change.
Higher
corresponded
both
sexes.
These
findings
typical
hormonal
development
inform
best
practices
for
handling
puberty
data.

Abstract
Background
Adverse
experiences
–
such
as
abuse
and
neglect
occurring
during
childhood
adolescence
have
been
found
to
predict
poorer
mental
cognitive
health.
Social
adversities,
including
bullying
social
exclusion,
are
likely
be
particularly
salient
adolescence.
However,
our
understanding
of
how
adversities
co‐occur
in
they
functioning
is
limited.
Methods
We
used
latent
profile
analysis
investigate
adolescents'
regressions
identify
their
relationship
cognition
later
development.

analysed

UKHLS

14–16

qualitative
study

Jordanian

Syrian
adolescents'
understandings
of
available
sexual
reproductive
health
(SRH)

sources

perceived
barriers
