Abstract Rationale Since the earliest LSD research, psychedelics have been claimed to enhance autobiographical memory. Revisiting and processing memories has further suggested be a major component of therapeutic action psychedelics. However, modern psychedelic research largely neglected elements experiences, many vital questions remain unanswered. Objectives We present discuss six open related memory: (1) Do recall? (2) Is recall significant (e.g., traumatic) common part experiences? (3) promote development false or inaccurate memories? (4) How do change if they are recalled reconsolidated under effects psychedelics? (5) What experiences like? (6) Are particular importance for their effects? Results background current limited state evidence each question provide suggestions on how future studies could best address them. Conclusions Besides advancing basic answering these pressing is highly relevant possible use psychedelics, both in terms developing optimizing new interventions avoiding iatrogenic harms. Ideally, psychedelic-assisted harness synergies between existing memory-based therapies.
