The strategies for social interaction between strangers differ from those acquaintances, whereas the differences in neural basis of have not been fully elucidated. In this study, we examined geometrical properties interpersonal networks pairs and acquaintances during antiphase joint tapping. Dual electroencephalogram (EEG) 29 channels per participant was measured 14 13 acquaintance pairs.Intra-brain synchronizations were calculated using weighted phase lag index (wPLI) intra-brain electrode combinations, inter-brain locking value (PLV) combinations theta, alpha, beta frequency bands. For each pair, with larger wPLI/PLV than their surrogates defined as edges networks. We global efficiency, local modularity derived graph theory combined intra- pair. theta band networks, stranger showed efficiency pairs, indicating that two brains more densely connected. Hence, weak ties require extensive interactions result high information transfer neighbors network.

Previous behavioral studies have shown that sharing painful experiences can strengthen social bonds and promote mutual prosociality, yet the neural mechanisms underlying this phenomenon remain unclear. We hypothesized a experience induces brain-to-brain synchronization empathy for each other's pain between pain-takers pain-observers, which then leads to enhanced bonding. To test hypothesis, we adopted an electroencephalographic (EEG) hyper-scanning technique assess neuronal activity during Pain-Sharing task in high- or low-intensity stimulation was randomly delivered one participant of dyad on different experimental trials. Single-brain analysis showed sensorimotor α-oscillation power suppressed more when expecting high-intensity than similarly self-directed partner-directed pain. Dual-brain revealed induced greater phases pain-observers did Mediation further α-oscillations mediated effects pain-stimulation intensity affective This predicted bonding, as indexed by prosocial inclinations measured after task. These results support hypothesis triggers emotional resonance pairs individuals through recorded over cortex, strengthens motivates behavior within individuals.

Abstract Healthy interaction between parent and child is foundational for the child's socioemotional development. Recently, an innovative paradigm shift in electroencephalography (EEG) research has enabled simultaneous measurement of neural activity caregiver child. This dual‐EEG or hyperscanning approach, termed parent–child dual‐EEG, combines strength both behavioral observations EEG methods. In this review, we aim to inform on potential parents children (0–6 years) developmental researchers. Abstract Humans make eye-contact to extract information about other people’s mental states, recruiting dedicated brain networks that process the self and others. Recent studies show increases synchronization between two brains but do not consider its effects on activity within single brains. Here we investigate how affects frequency direction of corresponding network characteristics. We also evaluate functional relevance by comparing inter- intra-brain friends vs. strangers leaders followers. higher in gamma band. Network analysis reveals some areas serve as hubs linking within- between-brain networks. During eye-contact, inter-brain than strangers. Dyads with clear leader/follower roles demonstrate from leader follower alpha Importantly, more brains, demonstrating is an inherently social signal. Future work should elucidate causal mechanisms behind induced synchronization.

Abstract Background The interaction between parent and adolescent is more challenging than in other age periods. Family cohesion seriously impacts parent-adolescent emotional interactions. However, the underlying neural mechanism has not been fully examined. This study examined differences synchrony response to film clips high low family adolescent-parent dyads by using electroencephalograph (EEG) hyperscanning. Results Simultaneously was recorded while 15 (LFCs)and 14 (HFCs)received different induction when viewing clips. Interbrain phase-locking-value (PLV) gamma band used calculate dyads’ interbrain synchrony. showed that higher observed HFCs LFCs positive conditions. there no significant difference Also, had significantly conditions negative Conclusion may represent an of bonding, which core cohesion.

While still relatively rare, longitudinal hyperscanning studies are exceptionally valuable for documenting changes in inter-brain synchrony, which may turn underpin how behaviors develop and evolve social settings. The generalizability ecological validity of this experimental approach hinges on the selected imaging technique being mobile–a requirement met by functional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS). fNIRS has most frequently been used to examine development synchrony behavior child-parent dyads. Emotions play a vital role within organizations, impacting various crucial aspects of work such as job satisfaction, performance, and employee well-being. Understanding how emotional states spread in organizational settings is therefore essential. Recent studies have highlighted that leader’s state can influence their followers, with significant consequences on performance. Leaders thus possess the ability to employees’ psychological and, consequently, However, biological underpinnings contagion from leaders followers remain unexplored. The field interpersonal (neuro)physiology, which involves recording brain peripheral activity multiple individuals during interactions, holds great potential for investigating this phenomenon. Analyzing time-lagged synchronization neurophysiological interactions may serve measure contexts. A sample of 25 completed picture task. Adolescents' ages ranged from 10 to 14 years old. The results showed that (1) at parietal areas, greater gamma was observed in high (HSAs) than low (LSAs) positive conditions.
