Background The pursuit of sleep quality has become an important aspect people’s global quest for overall health. However, the objective neurobiological features corresponding to subjective perceptions remain poorly understood. Although previous studies have investigated relationship between electroencephalogram (EEG) and sleep, lack longitudinal follow-up raises doubts about reproducibility their findings. Objective Currently, there is a gap in research regarding stable associations EEG data assessed through multiple collection sessions, which could help identify potential targets related quality. Methods In this study, we used portable device collect resting-state prefrontal cortex over 3-month period from 42 participants (27 first month, 25 second 40 third month). Each participants’ was using Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) estimate recent Results We found that significant consistent positive correlation low α band activity PSQI scores (r=0.45, P<.001). More importantly, remained across all recordings (P<.05), regardless whether considered same cohort or expanded sample size. Furthermore, discovered periodic component primarily contributed association with PSQI. Conclusions These findings represent identification reliable target sessions. Our results provide solid foundation future applications devices monitoring screening disorders broad population.

Abstract Romantic relationships are integral to human experience, with most individuals encountering them at some point in their lives. The neural mechanisms of romantic have gradually gained attention. However, existing studies mainly focused on the cross-sectional level, and longitudinal research is not sufficient, especially regarding early stages when couples first enter a relationship. brain's transition from normal state honeymoon phase love remains poorly understood. To answer this question, we, authors, used ourselves as subjects; after confirming our relationship, we employed portable electroencephalography (EEG) record activity prefrontal cortex during resting states (both eyes open closed). Data collection occurred irregularly over period around two months, resulting 13 EEG data trials per individual. We found that there was consistent decrease high alpha band under closed-eye for both us two-month period, suggesting potential correlation changes stage Further analysis revealed driven by periodic components rather than non-periodic components. This study reveal significant change oscillatory couple initial months which will further impact understanding mechanism sub-oscillations application emotions process.

Cognitive decline is a condition affecting almost one sixth of the elder population and widely regarded as first manifestations Alzheimer's disease. Despite extensive body knowledge on condition, there no clear consensus structural defects neurodegeneration processes determining cognitive evolution. Here, we introduce Brain Network Model (BNM) simulating effects neural activity during processing. The model incorporates two key parameters accounting for distinct pathological mechanisms: synaptic degeneration, primarily leading to hyperexcitation, brain disconnection. Through parameter optimization, successfully replicated individual electroencephalography (EEG) responses recorded task execution from 145 participants spanning different stages decline. cohort included healthy controls, patients with subjective (SCD), those mild impairment (MCI) Alzheimer type. inversion, generated personalized BNMs each participant based EEG recordings. These models revealed network configurations corresponding patient's virtual levels directly proportional severity Strikingly, uncovered neurodegeneration-driven phase transition regimes underlying execution. On either side this transition, increasing degeneration induced changes in that closely mirrored experimental observations across stages. This enabled link hyperexcitation severity. Furthermore, pinpointed posterior cingulum fiber driver transition. Our findings highlight potential account evolution while elucidating neurodegenerative mechanisms. approach provides novel framework understanding how functional alterations contribute deterioration along continuum.
