Spirulina is a kind of blue-green algae (BGA) that multicellular, filamentous, and prokaryotic. It also known as cyanobacterium. classified within the phylum algae. Arthrospira platensis, commonly known as Spirulina, is a photosynthetic filamentous cyanobacterium (blue–green microalga) that has been utilized food source since ancient times. More recently, it gained significant popularity dietary supplement due to its rich content of micro- and macro-nutrients. Of particular interest water soluble phycobiliprotein derived from Spirulina phycocyanin C (C-PC), which stands out the most abundant protein in this cyanobacterium. C-PC fluorescent protein, with chromophore represented by tetrapyrrole molecule phycocyanobilin B (PCB-B). While employed for coloring properties, also serves molecular basis numerous nutraceutical features associated Spirulina. The present study was conducted to summarize effects Spirulina on lipid profile in previous randomized trials.MEDLINE, Scopus, Clarivate Analytics Web Science, and Cochrane Library databases were searched systematically until January 2023, clinical interventions investigated effect supplementation plasma concentrations.ooled results 20 studies (with 23 arms 1076 participants) indicated intervention significantly reduced LDL-C (SMD: -0.6, 95% CI: -0.9, -0.2, P<0.05), TC P<0.05) TG levels while HDL-C increased 0.3, 0.0, 0.6, P<0.05).The findings meta-analysis review show usefulness supplementing with improving serum TC, TG, LDL-C, HDL-C.

Lipid peroxidation is associated with the development of some pathologies, such as cardiovascular diseases. The aim study was to evaluate effect liquid extract "Spirulysat®" on markers-in particular, oxidized LDL (oxLDL)/total cholesterol-and isoprostanes and investigate its impact lipid glucose metabolism metabolic syndrome subject. A controlled, randomised, double-blind design conducted 40 subjects aged 18 65 years after a daily intake Spirulysat® or placebo for twelve weeks. Blood urinary samples were collected at three visits (V1, V2, V3) two groups parameters determination.
