Food-gene interaction has been identified as a leading risk factor for inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and colorectal cancer (CRC). Accordingly, nutrigenomics emerges new approach to identify biomarkers therapeutic targets these two strongly associated gastrointestinal diseases. Recent studies in stem cell biology have further shown that diet nutrition signal intestinal cells (ISC) by altering nutrient-sensing transcriptional activities, thereby influencing barrier integrity susceptibility inflammation tumorigenesis. This review recognizes the dietary factors related both CRC IBD investigates their impact on overlapping transcription governing activities homeostasis post-injury responses. Our objective is provide framework study food-gene regulatory network of disease-contributing inspire nutrigenomic approaches detecting treating diet-related CRC.
