Abstract
The
prevalence
of
childhood
obesity
is
almost
20%
and
affects
14.7
million
youth.
It
not
a
matter
if
but
when
how
often
sports
medicine
clinicians
will
care
for
patients
with
obesity.
Considering
the
social,
emotional,
medical,
physical
impact
obesity,
we
need
nuanced
approach
to
communicate
develop
effective
treatment
plans
maintain
or
encourage
activity.
Neuromusculoskeletal
impairments,
complications,
pain,
biomechanical
differences,
deconditioning
act
as
potential
barriers
treatment.
This
article
introduces
ways
pivot
conversation
from
musculoskeletal
pain
productive,
well-received
about
holistic
weight
management
that
also
promotes
activity
overall
wellness
in
youth
Special
attention
given
equipping
recommendations
incorporate
use
inclusive
language,
health
behavior
theories,
tenets

interviewing

equitable

Multidisciplinary
lifestyle
interventions
for
children
with
obesity
in
Denmark
