In the present study, a simple immersion boundary method was developed to numerically simulate fluid-structure-acoustic coupling problem of underwater vehicles and their towed super long cables. A typical vehicle connected with different cable models at positions created in this study. Purpose This study aims to develop an inertial piezoelectric energy harvester mounted in a cylinder and use the flow-induced motion (FIM) harvest abundant water flow for powering electronic devices ocean. Design/methodology/approach A two-degree-of-freedom (2DOF) structure is designed flowing excite FIM. Two vertical columns were placed close downstream direction. The system analyzed theoretically based on fluid mechanics. prototype fabricated experimental verification. Findings results show that at speed 0.371 m/s 17 cm, maximum power output 861.39 µW one element. Originality/value 2DOF have larger oscillation amplitude than one-degree-of-freedom which helps transfer into energy. applied

This numerical study investigated the influence of heave plate's diameter on amplitude transitional motions a marine circular cylinder (MCC) with low aspect ratio under current and regular waves.
