This paper investigates the maneuvering characteristics of a planing hull free to move in heave and pitch directions undergoing steady drift test. Results assess compare predictions from Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) Detached Eddy Simulation (DES) 2D + t strip theory models against available experimental data Katayama et al. (2005). At high yaw angles Froude numbers both marginally deviate longitudinal force measurements. Whereas confronts difficulties predicting dynamic trim angle CG rise-up when either number or increases hence nonlinear hydrodynamics prevail, CFD generally agrees well with data. The model is seen result numerical ventilation zero-drift cases, leading lower pressure localized reduction skin friction coefficient. These phenomena are hypothesized contribute under-prediction scenarios. Strip provides less reliable results terms sway forces at larger angles, moment low associated maximum pressures near stagnation line. cannot capture asymmetric distribution that emerges on bottom large speed which likely be one reasons for errors side force. Simulations demonstrate strong vorticity field formation exposed nonzero angle. means added masses used can cause equilibrium predictions.

Moving fast by high-speed planing craft (HSPC) is advantageous for some special missions, though it causes severe hull vibrations and shocks that can transfer to the human body increase health comfort risks. This study reviews current safety standards avoid risks affected whole-body (WBVs), as well status of HSPC occupants. In addition, efficiency motion-reduction devices (trim tab interceptor) shock/vibration-mitigation (shock-mitigation seat) in improving occupants examined according existing documents. The research methodology was based on Preferred Reporting Items Systematic Reviews Meta-Analyses (PRIS-MA) method, published papers Scholar, Scopus, Web Science databases were analyzed. Because most these publications are academic research, issues bias eligible not particular interest. During this systematic review, many gaps challenges information improvement found need be addressed future studies, such a lack shock-mitigation seat performance reducing lateral fore-and-aft motions. Abstract This study aims to examine the development of research on seaplanes and determine innovations that have been achieved or researched. To better serve demands real aircraft designers, this presented a new process for creating seaplane designs. Combining historical data with current ship design resulted in preliminary concept design. Another benefit approach is transforming an existing landplane into by adding floating device satisfies conversion standards. Enhancing hydrodynamic performance was addition trimaran A retractable float employed add drag reduction during flying. The idea provided superior hydrostatic stability increased water speed, while floats’ decreased aerodynamic improved flying performance. computational framework also created assess efficacy hydrofoils amphibious aircraft, particular emphasis take-off For validation, comparison made between numerical simulations experiment results. results show over past decade has produced several innovations, from general detailed Seaplane potential be developed coming years.
