The
release
of
biological
control
agents
has
been
an
important
means
controlling
invasive
species
for
over
150
years.
While
these
releases
have
led
to
the
sustainable

weed
worldwide,

minority
caused
environmental
harm.
A
growing
recognition
risks
focus
on
risk
assessment
beginning
in
1990s
along
with
precipitous
decline

Biological
control
has
been
effectively
exploited
by
mankind
since
300
CE.
By
promoting
the
natural
regulation
of
pests,
weeds,
and
diseases,
it
produces
societal
benefits
at
food-environment-health
nexus.
Here
we
scrutinize
biological
endeavours
their
social-ecological
outcomes
through
a
holistic
'One-Health'
lens,
recognizing
that
health
humans,
animals,
plants,
wider
environment
are
linked
interdependent.
Evidence
shows
generates
desirable
within
all
One
Health
dimensions,
mitigating
global
change
issues
such
as
chemical
pollution,
biocide
resistance,
biodiversity
loss,
habitat
destruction.
Yet,
its
cross-disciplinary
achievements
remain
underappreciated.
To
remedy
this,
advocate
systems-level,
integrated
approach
to
research,
policy,
practice.
Framing
in
context
helps
unite
medical
veterinary
personnel,
ecologists,
conservationists
agricultural
professionals
joint
quest
for
solutions
some
most
pressing
planetary
health.

Abstract
Exotic
natural
enemies
that
are
imported
to
control
a
target
pest
may
attack
non-target
species
or
disrupt
the
performance
of
other
already
present.
We
evaluate
possible
interactions
between
three
parasitoid
species,
native
Telenomus
nizwaensis
and
Trichogramma
brassicae
evanescens
,
when
presented
with
Deudorix
livia
host
eggs
under
high-density
laboratory
conditions.
is
butterfly
which
an
economically
damaging
in
Omani
pomegranate
agro-ecosystem.
Most
(73.5%
overall)
observed
parasitism
was
by
T.
nizwaensis.
It
performed
best
absence
either
species.
These
thus
have
some
potential
suppression
indigenous
enemy
lower-density
conditions
field,
neither
them
achieved
high
rates
themselves
(laboratory
conditions:
=
12.5%;
18.5%;
no
evidence
for
any
field-collected
eggs).
Future
efforts
