The oral cavity may suffer from diseases and lesions of different natures that can result in changes to the underlying microvasculature. These are typically observed during examination biopsy samples, but there is still a need investigate methods for characterizing them live tissues. Capillaroscopy, medical imaging technique using polarized light magnification, has shown promise providing enhanced mucosa microvasculature preliminary studies. present work proposed review literature on what capillaroscopy is, its applications microvasculature, diagnostic prognostic significance various conditions. While limited available, further research capillaroscopy, particularly field oncology, needed determine potential benefits diagnosing predicting outcomes potentially malignant disorders cancers.
