Studies suggest swallow intervention programmes that incorporate visual biofeedback and motor programming principles can improve swallowing quality of life for people with idiopathic Parkinson's disease (IPD) dysphagia. Few studies have examined outcomes using instrumentation.Using fibreoptic endoscopic examination (FEES), this study examines the effectiveness a neurorehabilitation involving via surface electromyography (sEMG) to in IPD, explore feasibility approach. We recruited 12 participants IPD A total 10 completed study. Intervention was delivered 1 h per day, 5 days week, 4 weeks (20 h). Swallowing tasks sEMG incorporated learning neuroplasticity. In Germany, about 5 million people of all ages suffer from dysphagia. Due to demographic change and improved medical care, the incidence swallowing disorders is expected increase. Dysphagia associated with an increased morbidity mortality leads a considerable financial burden on health systems. The two most common causes dysphagia are neurological head neck cancer. Diagnostics therapy have developed continuously over past decades. particular, flexible endoscopic evaluation (FEES) has become established part diagnostics. The certificate "Diagnostics Therapy Oropharyngeal Dysphagia, incl. Swallowing oral solid dosage forms is challenging for those who have medication swallowing difficulties, including patients with dysphagia. One option to mix the drug (whole or crushed) a thick vehicle (medication lubricant). Previous in vitro studies consistently suggest that vehicles could impact dissolution of forms, potentially influencing their therapeutic effectiveness, but do not account changes happen during processing and swallowing. This study aims investigate potential lubricants on release examine effect processing. In whole crushed paracetamol tablets mixed five commercially available (two IDDSI level 2, two 3, one 4) were tested without processing; lubricant with/without was placed mouth (five healthy volunteers), prepared swallowing, then expectorated assessed physical characteristics release. Medication lubricants, both alone tablets, showed significant decrease viscosity after Without processing, 3 4 significantly delayed tablets. After particularly there substantial increase rate. These findings testing overestimates dissolution. Therefore, using tests predict rate medications discouraged. It essential consider ways incorporate effects environment used administration.

A huge proportion of people with Parkinson’s disease (PwP) in Germany have written an advance directive (AD). However, the content these forms regard to specific (PD)-related complications is rather low. There urgent need specify ADs PwP and consequently improve decision-making concerning end-of-life aspects for affected patients. Evidence- consensus-based PD-specific recommendations might help close this gap. Delphi study two online rounds was initiated. Initial were built on findings from previous studies derived evidence-based literature. Consensus defined as ≥80% concordance regarding clarity formulated relevance clinical practice. total 22 experts (15.2% response rate) predominantly workgroup ‘neuro-palliative care’ performed rounds. achieved 14 24 initially presented recommendations. Recommendations relating dopaminergic therapy well non-oral options considered important by expert panel. The should be taken into account when developing giving advice PwP. Health professionals trained counselling integrating during course PD.
