Chewable toothbrushes (CT) are considered an effective tool for dental plaque removal; however, their effectiveness is still uncertain compared to Manual (MT).To evaluate the of CT MT in removal.Studies comparing efficiency and removal measured by Turesky Modification Quigley-Hein Plaque Index (TMQHI), (QHI), or Silness Loe (SLPI) were identified PubMed, Medline Web Science, Google Scholar, CENTRAL. Results effect sizes estimate presented as mean difference, subgroup analysis separately non-randomised interventional studies randomised intervention studies. Risk bias was assessed using Cochrane risk (ROBINS-I ROB2 tool).A total 10 included systematic review, whereas six out meta-analysis. Both reduction over time when individually TMQHI SLPI scores. The overall pooled summary showed no difference MT's ability score. Similarly, there score. There significant ability. The aim of this scoping review was threefold: 1. to identify existing definitions oral frailty and similar terms in gerodontology literature; 2. assess the analyze whether these are well formulated on a conceptual level; 3. absence meeting criteria for good definitions, new definition will be presented. A search performed electronic databases internet engines. Studies explaining or defining were interest. software-aided procedure screen titles abstracts terms. We used guide quality methodological, linguistic, content-related criteria. Of 1,528 screened articles, 47 full-texts reviewed. Thirteen contained seven ten found that all contain same equivalent characteristics define concepts 'oral health', 'deterioration function', hypofunction'. Between is described with different number combination characteristics, resulting lack consistency. None met According our analysis, current cannot considered 'good' definitions. Therefore, we proposed definition: Oral age-related functional decline orofacial structures.

Older adults with cognitive impairment tend to experience deteriorating oral health and inadequate hygiene behaviors, but few studies have addressed interethnic variability. This study aimed explore the associations between or behaviors in multiethnic older Western China. We conducted a cross-sectional multicenter from four provinces of China, recruiting aged 50 years July December 2018. Oral were evaluated through an examination self-made questionnaire, whereas condition was assessed via Chinese version Short Portable Mental Status Questionnaire (SPMSQ). Three multiple regression models used examine adjustments for relevant variables. A total 6529 participants median age (interquartile range) 62.4 (55, 68) included. The prevalence 15.4%, Yi group having highest (28.9%), followed by Tibetan (19.1%) Qiang (15.4%) groups. Poorer self-rated health, fewer residual teeth, less frequent use toothbrushes toothpaste, irregular dental care associated risk (p < 0.05). SPMSQ scores correlations heterogeneous among Inadequate may be higher impairment. Advancing is essential preventing adults.

This study used data from the Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey 2014–2015 database to analyze association between periodontitis handgrip strength, a representative measure of hand impairment function, in adults aged ≥30 years. The 5926 (male: 2766, females: 3160) who underwent strength periodontal tissue examination had neither rheumatoid arthritis nor osteoarthritis were analyzed. Handgrip was assessed using digital grip dynamometer. average values right calculated separately by sex age group (five 10-year groups), as cut-off for reduced strength. Periodontal status evaluated Community Index, defining scores ≥ 3 periodontitis. Chi-square test multivariate logistic regression analyses performed compare differences prevalence according In final model adjusted risk factors periodontitis, likelihood decreased level increased (p < 0.05). Therefore, this suggests that may be valuable indicator health.

Abstract Background Manual dexterity includes gross motor skills (GMS) and fine (FMS). Literature reports manual as a contributing factor for improved oral hygiene that the required toothbrushing develops above 8 years of age. Research suggests grip force, movement speed, coordination should be assessed to improve knowledge on kinetics brushing teeth. Aim To assess impact efficacy in 7 12 year old children. Design The cross‐sectional study included 150 typically developing 7‐12 Oral health status was recorded using Decayed, Missing, Filled Teeth index. GMS FMS were evaluated MInnesota Dexterity Test (MMDT) Archimedes spiral test (AST), respectively. Toothbrushing determined by Turesky modification Quigley‐Hein Plaque Index‐ difference mean scores from before after toothbrushing. Results Assessment GMS, FMS, ANOVA showed significant increase with age ( p value: 0.000); unpaired t ‐test an association irrespective 0.000). Conclusion significantly associated AST, simple determine may help paediatric dentists guide parents supervision their child.

Gross manual dexterity is an important part of human factors and ergonomics. The purpose the current study was to investigate affecting gross dexterity. Gender, palm length, grip strength, hand skin temperature, room humidity were analyzed simultaneously predict by utilizing Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) approach. SEM showed that temperature most factor for predicting dexterity, followed several other such as gender, temperature. In addition, humidity, age, size also had significant indirect effects on derived in this could be a very valuable theoretical foundation which beneficial engineer, physical therapist, even medical doctors.
