Toxic pollutant contamination of water resources is a significant problem. Numerous aquatic systems are tainted by various hazardous inorganic and organic species introduced wastewater from different human sources, including domestic homes, businesses, farms, mining. Given this, treating the primary environmental challenge. An overview recent advancements in materials based on graphene (Gr) for treatment given this paper. Because its special qualities, Gr, two-dimensional material with remarkable mechanical, electrical, thermal properties, has become capable applications. Here, we have discussed types Gr-based synthesis methods used to materials. The physiochemical properties materials, such as high surface area, mechanical strength, electrical conductivity, chemical stability, optical gas permeability, also been discussed. Finally, application (such removal contaminants, pharmaceuticals, heavy metals, bacteria viruses), existing challenges, future direction concluded remarks. A comparative study terms degradation performance cost compared other provided review. Therefore, comprehensive review emerging paradigm applications, providing insights into their potential impact treatment.
