Hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection is a major global health issue and ranks among the top causes of liver cirrhosis hepatocellular carcinoma. Although current antiviral medications, including nucleot(s)ide analogs interferons, could inhibit replication HBV alleviate disease, cannot be fully eradicated. The development cellular animal models for plays an important role in exploring effective anti-HBV medicine. During past decades, advancements several cell culture systems, such as HepG2.2.15, HepAD38, HepaRG, hepatocyte-like cells, primary human hepatocytes, have propelled research inhibiting expression thus enriched our comprehension viral life cycle enhancing drug evaluation efficacy. Mouse models, particular, emerged most extensively studied models. Additionally, present landscape therapeutics now encompasses comprehensive assessment virus’s cycle, targeting numerous facets employing variety immunomodulatory approaches, entry inhibitors, strategies aimed at cccDNA, RNA interference technologies, toll-like receptor agonists, and, notably, traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). Cornus officinalis, a medicinal and edible plant known for its liver-nourishing properties, has shown promise in inhibiting the activation of hepatic stellate cells (HSCs), crucial indicators fibrosis, especially when processed by high pressure wine steaming (HPWS). Herein, this study aims to investigate regulatory effects cornus both raw HPWS forms, on inflammation apoptosis liver fibrosis their underlying mechanisms. In vivo models were established subcutaneous injection CCl4, while vitro HSCs exposed transforming growth factor-β (TGF-β). These findings demonstrated that officinalis with conspicuously ameliorated histopathological injury, reduced release proinflammatory factors, decreased collagen deposition CCl4-induced rats compared form. Utilizing ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography coupled quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometer (UHPLC-QTOF-MS) combined network analysis, we identified pharmacological changed components before after HPWS, primarily centered adenosine phosphate (AMP)-activated protein kinase (AMPK) pathway.
