Background: Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is a chronic characterized by intrahepatic accumulation and closely associated with metabolic problems. Some studies have indicated that Chaihu-Shugan-San (CSS) may positive effect on NAFLD, but robust evidence-based research to substantiate the application of CSS scarce. A meta-analysis was conducted assess clinical efficacy safety in treatment for NAFLD. Methods: The literature reporting NAFLD searched from inception October 2023 7 Chinese or English databases. Studies were screened incorporated based predefined criteria. Data extracted quality assessed independently 2 researchers according Cochrane risk bias tools. changes outcomes analyzed using mean difference (MD) 95% confidence intervals (CIs) random- fixed-effects model examine CSS. RevMan5.4 software used perform meta-analyses, meta package R 4.0.0 publication analysis. Results: total 17 involving 1576 participants meta-analysis. There high heterogeneity among all continuous outcomes. Compared common treatments, could decrease aspartate-aminotransferase (MD = −12.02, CI [−15.97, −8.07]), alanine-aminotransferase −10.89, [−16.35, −5.43]), triglyceride cholesterol levels. In addition, increase high-density lipoprotein And, lower incidence adverse events (RR 0.79, [0.33, 1.91]). Conclusion: Current evidence shows single combined use effective enzymes blood lipids. Nevertheless, it challenging reach conclusive determination owing significant ambiguous some trials. Therefore, more high-quality required implementation

Intermittent fasting (IF) can be an effective dietary therapy for weight loss and improving cardiometabolic health. However, there is scant evidence regarding the role of IF on indicators liver function, particularly in adults with metabolic disorders. Therefore, we performed a systematic review meta-analysis to investigate effects function Three primary electronic databases including PubMed, Web Science, Scopus, were searched from inception September 2024 identify original studies that used interventions or without control groups Inclusion criteria (1) human participants diseases, (2) evaluated IF, (3) group, (4) measured fat, steatosis, fibrosis, enzymes, alanine aminotransferase (ALT) aspartate (AST) as outcomes. Standardized mean differences (SMD) 95% confidence intervals calculated using random models. Heterogeneity was assessed Cochran's Q statistic I-squared (I2). Publication bias visual inspection funnel plots Egger's tests. The risk PEDro scale NIH quality assessment tool. A total 21 involving 1,226 disorders included meta-analysis. Overall, effectively decreased fat large effect size [SMD: -1.22 (95% CI: -1.63 -0.80), p = 0.001], steatosis medium -0.73 -1.12 -0.35), ALT small -0.44 -0.58 -0.30), AST -0.30 -0.49 -0.11), but not fibrosis -0.28 -0.59 0.02), 0.07]. Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) has a rapidly growing incidence worldwide, affecting approximately one-third of world population. The disturbance gut commensal bacteria impacting host’s homeostasis is referred to as dysbiosis. microbiome contributes the pathogenesis NAFLD through various pathways. Gut microbiota at constant interactions with intestinal epithelial barrier and affects its integrity. Through gut-liver axis, may influence immune function. release lipopolysaccharides (LPS) from intestines portal vein which are transported liver, trigger hepatic inflammation, steatosis even fibrosis. Moreover, induces conversion primary bile acids (BAs) secondary BAs, activates receptors, such FXR TGR5. activation decreases fat absorption thus reduces lipid accumulation, while TGR5 promotes glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) in blood. Furthermore, ethanol-producing been implicated development. Additionally, there reduction levels short-chain acids, butyrate, propionate acetate. Many bacterial alterations have observed NAFLD, including increased Bacteroidetes decreased Firmicutes . probiotics tried prevention management, plethora strains Lactobacilli , Bifidobacteria Streptococcus some them promising perspectives. There also data administration prebiotics (such inulin fructo-oligosaccharides) symbiotics (probiotics plus prebiotics). Faecal transplantation (FMT) yet be evaluated for efficacy against NAFLD.

The ability to control and manipulate biological fluids within microchannels is a fundamental challenge in diagnosis pharmaceutical analyses, particularly when buffers with very high ionic strength are used. In this study, we investigate the numerical experimental study of fluidic biochips driven by ac electrothermal flow for controlling manipulating samples inside microchannel, e.g., fluid-driven manipulation purposes such as concentrating mixing. By appropriately switching voltage on electrode structures inducing AC forces channel, network pumping capabilities can be achieved, enabling fluid velocity/direction also rotation. using finite element analysis, coupled physics electrical, thermal, fields, molecular diffusion transport were solved. was studied mixing applications, optimal model extracted. microfluidic chip fabricated two processes: structure development silicon mold fabrication cleanroom. PDMS prepared microchannel material bonded structure. After implementing holder excitation circuit, buffer varying strengths (0.2, 0.4, 0.6 [S/m]) prepared, mixed fluorescent particles, loaded into chip. Experimental results demonstrated efficiency proposed showing that stronger flows generated increasing conductivity voltage. system behavior characterized an impedance analyzer. Frequency response analysis revealed solution electrical [S/m], velocity remained almost constant frequency range 100 kHz 10 MHz. Overall, showed good agreement simulation outcomes.
