Abstract Background Infectious mononucleosis (IM) is a common disease in children; however, liver injury its most complication. However, the pathogenesis of IM complicated with ambiguous. Thus, this study aimed to explore potential mechanism IM-associated injury. Methods This was conducted at Children’s Hospital Soochow University by collecting peripheral blood 70 hospitalized children IM. These patients were categorized into (LIG, n = 35) and non-liver groups (NLIG, 35), respectively. Subsequently, PBMCs plasma separated obtained. transcriptome sequencing performed two (5 cases each group), significantly differentially expressed genes (DEGs) screened. Additionally, GO function enrichment, KEGG enrichment GSEA analyses performed. RT-PCR helped detect relative GBP5, NLRP3 caspase-1 expressions (30 group) while groups’ caspase-1, IL-1β IL-18 levels measured ELISA. clinical laboratory datas 60 evaluated. Results Transcriptome results showed that 171 DEGs screened NLIG group, compared LIG. Among them, 154 up-regulated, 17 down-regulated, correlated NOD-like receptor signaling pathway. Statistically significant differences observed white cell lymphocyte counts, CD3 + CD4 T cells, CD8 alanine aminotransferase (ALT), aspartate transaminase (AST), lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) ( p < 0.05). Compared NLIG, PBMCs, as well levels, higher LIG 0.001). A correlation analysis revealed positive GBP5 LDH, ALT, AST, cells Conclusions Our findings demonstrate contributes through NLRP3-dependent

Metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) is rapidly emerging as a global health crisis, affecting over 30% of the population and demanding urgent attention. This redefined condition, previously known non-alcoholic fatty (NAFLD), reflects deeper understanding intricate interplay between metabolic dysfunction health. At heart MASLD lies troubling accumulation triglycerides (TGs) in hepatocytes, which precipitates insulin resistance oxidative stress, ultimately leading to more severe forms like steatohepatitis (MASH). Excitingly, recent research has spotlighted farnesoid X receptor (FXR) groundbreaking therapeutic target. FXR not only regulates lipid metabolism but also combats inflammation resistance, making it potential game-changer fight against MASLD. With one FDA-approved drug, resmetirom, currently available, exploration agonists opens new avenues for innovative treatments that could revolutionize patient care. By harnessing power restore balance integrating advanced strategies lipidomics acid profiling, we stand on brink transforming how approach its associated complications, paving way healthier future. review delves into promising role combating implications related disorders, emphasizing urgency detect manage this burgeoning epidemic.

Background Alcohol use disorder (AUD) is a psychiatric that widespread worldwide. significant contributor to the global burden of death, disability and disease. Modulation gut microbiota promising approach improve efficacy minimize adverse effects colorectal cancer treatment. The relationship between presence microbes AUD has been widely validated. However, few studies have examined this using bibliometric methods. Therefore, study analyzes research hotspots trends in human microbiology over last two decades from perspective.
