Aging is a process characterized by tissue degeneration, increased susceptibility to chronic degenerative diseases, infections, and the appearance of neoplasms, which leads disability reduction in length quality life. This phenomenon result convergence multiple processes, including mitochondrial dysfunction, fibrosis, inflammation, dysregulation cell death immunosenescence. These processes have as their point an increase production ROS. Avocado oil (Persea americana Mill.) contains diverse array bioactive compounds, oleic acid, phytosterols, chlorophylls, xanthones, xanthines, carotenoids. compounds capacity modulate excessive ROS, thereby reducing progression age-related diseases extending lifespan experimental models aging. In addition, several studies demonstrated efficacy avocado mitigating hypertension; insulin resistance; diabetes; non-alcoholic liver disease; such hearing loss, cognitive decline, neurodegeneration, impaired wound healing. light these findings, it hypothesized that promising agent capable promoting healthspan later stages life owing its direct antioxidant actions activation pathways enhance endogenous levels.
