Abstract Objective The açaí ( Euterpe oleracea ), a palm tree fruit native to the Amazon region, holds significant potential for various applications in food, therapeutics and cosmetics. However, seeds of fruit, known contain numerous antioxidants, are discarded frequently cause environmental pollution. Therefore, this study aimed explore application standardized extract (TI‐35) as cosmetic product. Methods Açai were obtained from commercial source. Following preparations phytochemical identification quantification main constituents present (TI‐35), several vitro studies performed using human cell line cultures. TI‐35 was evaluated on viability (human keratinocytes, fibroblasts melanocytes), proliferation (keratinocytes), antioxidant activity (keratinocytes fibroblasts), melanin content (melanocytes), metalloproteinase‐1 (MMP‐1) tyrosinase inhibition assays. Skin irritation assessed reconstructed epidermis mutagenic evaluated, according OECD 439 471, respectively. Results A total 14 constituents, mainly phenolic compounds, identified quantified TI‐35. It demonstrated excellent long‐lasting stability exhibited intrinsic surpassing that ascorbic acid. At low concentrations (up 10 μg/mL), did not change or proliferation. decreased basal reactive oxygen species production produced pronounced scavenging effects. Notably, caused MMP‐1 its effect more when compared with either acid ferulic acid, highlighting pro‐aging property. In addition, interfere levels have skin has no activity, providing solid assurance safety E. use. Conclusion TI‐35, sourced seeds, by‐product food industry, noteworthy pharmacological properties vitro, including antioxidant, photoprotective, soothing sagging Thus, emerges safe option development innovative products.

The biological activity of natural plant-oil-based nanostructured lipid carriers (NPO-NLCs) can be enhanced by the encapsulation bioactive compounds, and they in turn improve topical delivery drugs. Quercetin (QR), a vital plant flavonoid, expresses antibacterial properties, we recently showed that empty NPO-NLCs also have antimicrobial activity. main objective this study was to evaluate synergetic effect loading with quercetin (QR-NPO-NLCs) as system for treatment bacterial skin infections. Five carrier systems containing different oils (sunflower, olive, corn, coconut, castor) were engineered. particles’ stability, structural bioavailability, studied. NLCs an average size <200 nm Z-potential −40 mV developed. Stable QR-NPO-NLCs obtained high efficiency (>99%). QR decreased cytotoxicity increased antioxidant nanocarriers. An increase demonstrated against Staphylococcus aureus. could transport intranuclear location within HaCaT cells, indicating are promising candidates controlled drug delivery.

In this study, an attempt was made to evaluate the antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and protective effects of Sambucus nigra fruit extract its ferment obtained by fermentation with kombucha tea fungus. For purpose, fermented non-fermented extracts were compared in terms their chemical composition HPLC/ESI-MS chromatographic method. The antioxidant activity tested samples assessed using DPPH ABTS assays. Cytotoxicity also determined Alamar Blue Neutral Red tests assess viability metabolism fibroblast keratinocyte skin cells. Potential anti-aging properties ability inhibit metalloproteinases collagenase elastase. Tests showed that have stimulate proliferation both cell types. study monitoring levels pro-inflammatory interleukins IL-6, IL-1ß, tumor necrosis factor (TNF-α) IL-10 lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-treated results indicate S. can be effective preventing free-radical-induced damage positive on health.

One of the major challenges in dermal drug delivery is adequate penetration active compound into skin without causing any irritation and inflammation. Nanocrystals (NCs) are nanoscale particles, their sizes below 1000 nm. NCs made up particles only, which used to improve aqueous solubility bioavailability poorly water-soluble drugs. typically prepared either by bottom-up or top-down techniques. The advantages using NC-based formulations enhancing include increased loading capacity, easier deeper tissue, passive diffusion. with capacity enhanced can be effectively treat a wide range disorders, including melanoma, inflammation, psoriasis, acne vulgaris, bacterial infections, fungal eczema, aging, herpes simplex virus manifestations tick bites, frostbite-related hyperpigmentation, diabetic foot ulcer. In this review, across barrier, mechanism action NCs, delivery, NC preparation methods, applications treatment various disorders have been discussed.
