Semiliquidambar cathayensis is widely used in traditional Chinese medicine owing its high concentrations of polyphenol, triterpenoidic acid, and flavonoids. This study aimed to explore the impact geographical origin tissue type on contents chemical compounds S. cathayensis, as determined by colorimetric chromatographic methods. Therefore, we quantitively evaluated found tissues various organs plants collected six different regions. Overall, that affected content medicinal leaves, with from Jingzhou county showing best therapeutic potential. However, no specific correlation was observed latitude. It noteworthy amount paeoniflorin other can be biomarkers type. Most accumulated mainly whereas ursolic oleanolic acids roots. These results show comprehensive value leaves highest, but root should selected first collect acid acid.

Hypericum perforatum L., commonly known as St. John’s wort, is a widely distributed herbaceous plant utilized in traditional and phytomedicinal applications, particularly for its hydrophilic bioactive compounds. It often used treating early depressive states. In this study, we focused on reporting the tocotrienols—lipophilic phytochemicals with health-promoting properties—in wort. H. flowerheads predominantly contained tocotrienols compared tocopherols (54 30 mg/100 g dry weight, respectively). The major (T3) were δ-T3 α-T3 (34.0 17.6 Tocopherols are lipophilic that cannot be present wort water extracts (tea infusions), but they can recovered from remaining residues of tea infusions by using hydroethanolic solutions. A 50.0% (v/v) solution was not effective recovery tocochromanols. greatest increase extractability tocochromanols observed 70.0–80.0% extracts, while increasing ethanol concentration 90.0% to 96.2% only slightly improved (not statistically significant). For each concentration, proportionally higher than tocopherols. Residues proposed valuable by-products rich tocotrienols.

St. John’s wort (Hypericum perforatum L.) is an ornamental and medical plant, distributed worldwide, which rich in diverse secondary metabolites. The discovery of the presence tocotrienols (rare prenyllipids) H. marks a new chapter demanding deeper understanding accumulation these lipophilic biomolecules. Three wild populations were harvested Latvia at three different locations from 2022 to 2024 separated into stems, leaves, flower buds, flowers. Plant samples freeze-dried, ground, saponified, analyzed for tocochromanol profiles using RP-LC-FLD confirmed by LC-MS system. Eight tocochromanols, four tocopherols (Ts), (T3s), identified perforatum. Leaves dominated α-T (82%), buds flowers δ-T3 (44%); thus, lowest concentrations recorded leaves highest buds. other present as follows: α-T3 > γ-T3 β-T3. location perforatum, year harvest, aerial part their interactions all significantly influenced content tocochromanols (p < 0.05). study demonstrates relevant discoveries regarding various organs variability.

St. John's wort (Hypericum perforatum) is a medicinal plant known for its bioactive compounds, including tocopherols and tocotrienols, which possess antioxidant anti-inflammatory properties. These compounds play vital roles in the plant's metabolism have potential applications cosmetic pharmaceutical industries. However, content of these different anatomical parts plant, as well influence environmental factors, such year collection, remain underexplored. This study examined tocochromanols H. perforatum leaves, flowers, flower buds, collected Poland during years 2022-2024. The results revealed that predominantly accumulated while tocotrienols were more abundant flowers buds. collection had significant effect on tocopherol levels, tocotrienol showed lower sensitivity to fluctuations, indicating their higher stability. can be considered valuable source biologically active especially exhibit stability less susceptibility variability. underline importance considering both when aiming maximize production compounds.

Fifteen transgenic shoot clones (TS A-TS O) regenerated from Hypericum perforatum hairy roots were evaluated for growth characteristics, phenylpropanoid, and naphthodianthrone production, as well non-enzymatic enzymatic antioxidant status. Transgenic shoots displayed higher biomass production non-altered phenotypes compared to control shoots. Phenylpropanoid in TS was not related phenylalanine ammonia lyase activity indicating that alternative enzymes could be involved the regulation of phenylpropanoid/flavonoid biosynthesis. The positive correlation between phenylpropanoids (phenolic acids, flavonoids, flavan-3-ols, tannins) assays suggested these compounds are main contributors redox state radical scavenging properties clones. More importantly, enhanced (hypericin, pseudohypericin protopseudohypericin) associated with number leaf dark glands. Concerning status TS, guaiacol peroxidase shown enzyme turns down H2O2 levels, while upregulation superoxide dismutase coincided decreased O2•− production. efficiency neutralization level MDA consequently delayed lipid peroxidation Altogether, H. proposed a prospective biotechnological system scale-up naphthodianthrones properties.
